Every once in a while, a true legend enters the Viking arena...

Jack came to The Viking Games and didn’t just take on the challenges. He absolutely conquered them.

He walked away with the highest archery score of the year and the highest Angel Throwing score of the year. 🏹🪓

Two challenges. Two new records. One seriously impressive performance.

The Viking Gods were clearly watching over him that day. ⚔️🔥

🏹 Records were made to be broken! 🏹

What an incredible run of shooting from three of our archers recently! 🔥

🎯 Jonny matched the joint highest score of the year with an outstanding 262!

🎯 Lauren set a new highest female single-round score of the year with 53, and also shot the second-highest female overall score of the year with 223!

🎯 Josh claimed the highest male single-round score of the year with an impressive 53!

Huge congratulations to all three for some fantastic shooting and well-deserved recognition. 👏

This summer has been one to remember! 🌿🦋

We’ve noticed an incredible abundance of wildlife around our activity site, making every day outdoors feel even more special. From graceful red kites soaring overhead and swallows filling the skies, to dragonflies darting across the water, grasshoppers chirping through the meadows, and brown hares racing across the fields, nature has truly put on a show.

We’ve also loved spotting gatekeeper butterflies along the hedgerows and watching solitary bees busy at work in our bee hotels and wildflower areas. It’s a wonderful reminder of how important healthy habitats are for the amazing wildlife that shares our space.

Whether you’re visiting for an adventure or simply taking in the surroundings, don’t forget to pause, look up, and listen—you never know what you might discover. 🐝🦅🐇🦗

A new score to beat for 2026! 🪓

Huge congratulations to Kayleigh, who has set the highest female axe throwing score of the year with an impressive 56 points. In doing so, she beat the previous top score by 6 points and moved to the top of the leaderboard.

With accuracy, consistency, and some seriously impressive throwing, Kayleigh put in a performance that will take some beating. The pressure is now on for everyone else to step up and see if they can knock her off the top spot.

What a weekend of archery 🏹

Watch out Robin Hood there are three people after your title of master archer.

First of all Nathan topped our Male Archery Score of the Year with 261 points. Aptly nicknamed the Olympian.

Secondly, we have Michelle who topped our female highest score of the year with 234 points. Brilliant from start to finish.

Thirdly, it’s Mark (the Marksman) who had the Male score of the year for 48 hours until he was pipped by Nathan. This is the second year running that he had the number one spot before someone immediately scored higher.

You all better watch your backs as we have a number of our previous year winners booked in and ready to take back what is rightfully theirs. Let the battle commence.

Fantastic day at the Vintage and Country Fair Gwatkins today.
Thanks to everyone who visited and had a go at Axe Throwing 🪓
We had some truly amazing throwing 👏
Huge congratulations to 15 year old Morgan, 10 out of 10 of the axes in the board, one bullseye 🎯 and an awesome 39 points, earning himself top scorer of the day!
Special mention also goes to Alice and George who both got 2 bullseyes 🎯 each!
Always great to take the Viking Games on tour 🪓
