Been a while since I posted but you might be interested in a couple of developments.

I've been helping British Rowing with some technique videos which are mid production right now. They hope to launch them later this year, so watch out for news about them.

I have also resumed coaching workshops and coaching support activities now that the Covid threat has diminished. Again, with BR we are looking at ways to support coaches on the water, as opposed to classroom type coach education. It'll be an autumn thing given that we're now in racing season.

Finally, if you're a BR member, keep an eye out for my final on-line articles on British Rowing Plus. All about those Micro Moments of technique, and Time, Timing & Rhythm.

An interesting bit of CPD for yours truly yesterday. RYA Sea Survival is not an essential for rowing coaches but learning about cold water immersion and survival techniques was really interesting and FUN! 16 candidates from all walks of life, from professional fishermen to racing sailors, pleasure boaters, transatlantic adventurers (and me!).
Also interesting is their approach to education: a healthy mix of theory and practice all in one day.

Jan 29th saw Coaches' technique workshop number 30 take place TWO years since the last one, thanks to Covid shutting things down. This one was hosted by University of York Boat Club and with York City, Bradford, Hull Kingston RC, and St Peters School York all in attendance.
A great day together discussing coaching styles and ingredients of success, plus lots on technique.
Hopefully 2022 will see a few more happen around the UK.

Miami in January? What's not to like! A great week coaching with Hydrow, filming, and catching up with old ex-lightweight adversary, Jim Green. Jim, formerly Kingston RC, these days coaching at Miami Beach RC.

Scottish Rowing Academy & J16 Camp December 2021. A really engaging crop of youngsters - some great questions and chats about, guess what? ROWING! It's always refreshing to see young faces with their sporting journey unfolding ahead of them. Shame we couldn't access Strathclyde for the water work but still a useful weekend.

Thanks to Lee Boucher and his team for inviting me, and making it run so smoothly.
