Saturday marked a fantastic day for the Rupert House Riding Team. We had an early start and made our way to Rectory farm in Gloucestershire for the NSEA show jumping competition. Our numbers have boosted to ten riders, meaning we were able to field teams in the 40cm, 50cm and 60cm classes. Each team rode their hearts out and achieved team placings in all their classes. A team 2nd and 3rd in the 40cm, team 3rd and 4th in the 50cm and an outstanding team 1st in the 60cm. Rupert House have qualified for the NSEA championships, an incredible achievement for the team and testament to their hard work and dedication to their sport.

Some of our team were competing for the very first time. It was a large venue with an equally big atmosphere and lots of spectators. Huge well done for managing the pressure and representing the school so well.

They all rode with skill, focus and absolute determination. Excellent individual performances were met with equally enthusiastic support from their teammates. It was wonderful to hear each rider being cheered on! The team spirit was encouraged and supported by our smiling parents, grandparents and support crew. They were all instrumental in our riders and ponies putting their best hooves forward. They bathed, groomed, plaited, baked, picnicked and cheered our team on all day.

Lead by our team leader Polly, all riders went to thank the judges who remarked “you are a credit to your school”, which felt a very fitting way to end what was a wonderful day and we couldn’t agree more, well done RH Equestrian Team!

Yesterday was our first rally of the new term. Team Rupert House came in force to Checkendon Equestrian Centre and held two sessions for our young riders. They came with lots of enthusiasm and determination! The rewards were there to see with some beautiful pole work, tidy transitions and above all else big smiles. All topped off with biscuits and hot chocolate 😋. Huge thanks to Emily our fabulous instructor and Polly for organising us all.
