We held a club Championships this evening.
Really just to give members who haven't done a Championships before in a controlled safe environment to compete.
We had a special guest presenting the medals tonight
Tesco's community champion
Tricia Glenister who has been very supportive to our club which is very much appreciated
Big thank to our team of coaches and Helpers that makes these events happen
We are so lucky to have such a strong committed team thank you 👍🥋❤️

We made up a little randori pool
As little Dory Savage who has at to rest from judo with some heath issues But was determine to have a go she's a real little fighter with great spirit

Another well attended sessions.
Primary class working on improving their techniques using uchi komi drills. Followed with randori to test their improved skills. Everyone trained well.
Primary merit went to Dory Savage lovely to have her back on the mat little fighter
Primary judoka went to Layker Whittle
Junior and senior class working on technical combinations. Followed by uchi komi to practice the new drills.
Finishing off with randori.
Junior merit went to Edward Brotherton

Very humid evening tonight numbers down as a lot of kids went back to school today
Nevertheless primary's did some good grading revision tonight with a few drills
Juniors and Seniors did lots of varied work

Mr Mealng aka The Guv'nor to me was a very wise influential funny supportive gentleman and will be sadly missed

Some nice drills
We had a special little guest tonight Dory Savage who as at to put judo on the back burner with some medical issues

First session back after the bank holiday
Gave all our members the chance to see our successful
National medal winners from last weekend
We took a small team of 6 and came away with 5 National medals
BJC National Open Championships in Kettering

We took a small team of six competitors to the British Judo Council National Open
Championships held in Kettering Sports Arena today
And they all did themselves and the club proud
First up was Max Miles getting to the final and taking a well deserved Silver
Next up couple of the girls
Ava Stewart fighting her way to a well deserved Silver
Danica Brennan had a very good day beating everybody to take Gold and National Champion
Next up was Stanley Robins he was a little under the weather today but still competed but was out of the medals this time
Next up was Sidney Robbins who was very calm and collected who won all his fights
In style with a brilliant left handed Uchi Mata against a very good opponent winning Gold and National Champion
Beth O'Connor thought in the female dan grades where the groups where amalgamated so Beth was giving away over 15kg to some of her opponents but she still came away with a well deserved National Bronze medal
We had great support from coaches and parents.
Josie Oliver at to withdraw a few days before the event as she damage her hand prior to the event playing football.
On a personal note it's been a few years since myself and Amanda had attended the Nationals and it was lovely to catch up with a lot of old judo friends

Coach Tim has just completed an incredible 500-mile cycle through the Scottish Highlands!

For those who may not know, Tim suffered a stroke last year. His journey back has been one of courage, resilience, and sheer determination. This challenge not only marks his remarkable recovery but also shines a light on his unwavering commitment to support others who have faced similar battles.

We are beyond proud of you, Coach Tim — what an inspiration! 💪👏
