Dacorum AC High Jumpers Shine at BIG on Tour Birmingham
Three of Dacorum ACβs talented high jumpers travelled to the BIG on Tour meeting at the University of Birmingham Athletics Track, Munrow Sports Centre, Edgbaston, on Sunday 14th June. This was a high-calibre event, with athletes required to achieve demanding entry standards to secure their place in the competition.
Representing the club were U18 Jesse Grinyer (Pool B), U20 George Ball (Pool A) and U20 Dahlia Corp (Pool C), with all three producing outstanding performances that reflected the hard work, commitment and dedication of both the athletes and their coach, Rob.
Competing in Pool B, Jesse Grinyer enjoyed a superb competition, clearing a new personal best of 1.96m to secure an excellent 2nd place finish. His clearance represented a remarkable 5cm personal best improvement, highlighting the progress he continues to make and rewarding the hard work he has put into his training.
In Pool A, George Ball produced a strong series of jumps, ultimately finishing 9th with a best clearance of 2.01m against a highly competitive field. Competing in one of the strongest pools of the day and achieving another 2-metre-plus performance is a testament to his quality and determination.
The standout result of the day came in Pool C, where Dahlia Corp showed she has well and truly put last seasonβs injury setbacks behind her. Dahlia delivered a fantastic performance to claim 1st place, equalling her personal best of 1.75m and taking the win in style. After the challenges of last season, this was an excellent return to top form and a well-deserved victory.
Congratulations to Jesse, George and Dahlia on their fantastic performances and achievements at this prestigious event. Each athlete represented Dacorum AC with distinction, producing results to be proud of against some of the countryβs best high jumpers. Special congratulations also go to coach Rob (), whose guidance and support continue to help our athletes reach new heights.
