Good evening our league campaign is now underway! With our longest away day made this afternoon to Jury Park and home to Padstow Ladies.

We started brightly dominating possession and although we were playing down the hill Padstow definitely played the pitch very well they clearly understand that it’s best to setup with a back line of 5 when defending the bottom goal.

Due to welfare the game was split into 4 1/4s so the girls could get fluids onboard.

We took a deserved lead through Amy who opened her woman’s league football with two goals and maintained our short sharp passing game.

We’ve always encouraged the girls to play football from back to the front and as a result we got caught out and Padstow got an equaliser, this will happen especially when I’m determined we’ll be a passing team for as long as I’m managing this squad.

Lois got a screamer of a goal 🥅 was it a cross or a ruthless finish 🤔 I’ll let the players decide 🤣

We went into half time 1-2 up but with needing to play up hill for the second half we knew the importance of a 3rd goal to help secure a win and further stamp our mark on the match . Aalayah gave us that cushion to help allow the girls to play some positive attacking football

Isla really understood what was asked of her as a nuisance striker and we’re all so pleased for her when she got her first ever goal in woman’s football 👏.

At 4-1 it was always about maintaining the pressure we knew that we may concede but the players had the freedom to really press and create more pressure. With Pressure came the just rewards and Aalayah scored her second of the game.

With Amy reintroduced the opportunity came for her to add to her tally and she scored a very nice goal to complete the game with a 1-6 win.

Many notable performances this afternoon and our defensive line working very well today 👏

Our WOTM was Lois Hichens with a goal and 4 assists this afternoon.

With our final training session held last night as we prepare for our first league fixture we return back to our players and those who are still searching for a sponsor, we’ve secured 2 more local businesses whom we’ll share their generosity and the players they’re helping.

We cast the spotlight now on Chelsey, Chelsey is from the village and has made an immediate impact when she returned to her village club last December. A very versatile young player who can play anywhere within the spine of a team, hardworking midfielder or a prolific goal scorer !!

Chelsey was voted players player so she’s really held in high regard by her teammates.

Chelsey would be a great ambassador for your business and we’d love for a local firm to help her for the season ahead.

Following on from yesterday’s positive afternoon we’re delighted to share that Erin Norfolk has been selected for Plymouth Argyle under 18s squad !!

Erin who’s only been involved in football for 3 seasons has shown tremendous ability and more importantly work ethic to find herself in the squad.

She’s spent her youth journey under the coaching and guidance of St. Day particularly Mark Richards who’s clearly had a positive influence upon her and indeed others.

I’ve been fortunate to have coached 4 other girls who have made it into Plymouth Argyles youth set up over the years with one of them now in the Ladies first team squad !!

Good evening we completed our Pre Season friendly schedule with an away trip to Wadebridge Town Ladies FC. Given the awful weather on the drive up we were very happy the game went ahead.

Given the bank holiday weekend we were delighted with the availability and we had a committed and capable group.

Wadebridge whom have now returned to the Premiership is a highly comparable team and it was a match we wanted to make sure we could contribute in.

We begun brightly enjoying spells of lengthy possession and short sharp passing to try to work our way in to the final third. Wadebridges back line was solid and made it very difficult to convert our possession into goals.

Wadebridge played to their strengths well and they understood that their greatest strength was the through ball into space behind our back line it was something that served them well during the match.

Wadebridge went 2-0 up and we begun to turn the heavy possession into scoring opportunities along with also hitting the woodwork too!! We quickly made it 2-2 in the second half through two goals from Taiya - Mai Catterall, her cousin scoring 3 last week ! We had multiple chances which weren’t capitalised upon.

Wadebridges GK was superb and in our opinion gave a Player of the match performance.

The home team secured a win with about 10 minutes remaining.

We’re all delighted with this afternoon’s performance, the group were extremely galvanised never once looking to sulk or blame anyone for being 2 goals down. The players understand that in football goals are the currency and we can’t be as wasteful with scoring opportunities. We stuck to our principal of play and we’re confident this philosophy of football will give us an enjoyable 26/27 campaign and those that watch an enjoyable spectacle.

We wish Wadebridge the best of luck for the new season ahead. Our Season now begins on the 06th as we play Padstow Ladies.

Good morning this afternoon we complete our Pre Season Schedule with an away trip to Wadebridge Town Ladies FC. Wadebridge finished a respective 3rd in the division we’re now competing in and have deservedly been promoted to the Premiership. This will be a valuable test for us and like all teams much welcomed minutes in the legs.

We now continue to share and promote the local businesses that are coming forward and supporting our players for the 26/27 season.

Up next is Brooke, Brooke is part of our defensive lineup and also an award winning match official too!

Tanya became passionate about chiropractic when her horse suffered an injury whilst competing. She saw first hand how chiropractic treatment can help animals as well as people.

Tanya went to study chiropractic at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in South Wales in 2011 and graduated in June 2015. She has also completed her post graduate study with International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractic & is registered with the General Chiropractic Council, British Veterinary Chiropractic Association & International Veterinary Chiropractic Association.

Good evening this afternoon we warmly welcomed Lanner Ladies to Gala Parc for a much needed and valued PSF. Lanner communicated brilliantly all week and along with us who had lower availability still wanted to play the game.

We’ve worked hard throughout the summer not only on ball work but on our strength and fitness with help from Becky at the Porthleven Fitness Collective.

We were able to offer home debuts to two players one of whom grabbed a hat trick ⚽️⚽️⚽️ this afternoon, Congratulations Amy on your contribution today. Tilly made her first appearance for the club and we hope she gives thought to us for her ladies pathway this campaign.

We played some very quick fast football and created positive waives of attacking play, we’re working on becoming obsessed with possession and making sure we can involve all players in that process even our GK 🥅 🧤.

Tilly, Chelsey, Louella and Lacey also found themselves on the score sheet so congratulations to those players the entire group made excellent contributions 👏

We want to wish the Lanner Ladies all the best for the new season ahead and thank you for staying behind and helping to support the club 🍻
