Penrose 10K 💥 | Health, Headspace & Showing Up

Me and Bates hit the trail this morning for a solid 10K run – first time I’ve run that distance in a while, to be honest. When he suggested it last night, I was like “Are you mad?” 😅 But I stuck on my man-the-f**k-up pants and got to it.
We met at 8am sharp at Penrose, and we smashed it – came in at 58 mins. Sub 1 hour. Chuffed is an understatement 👊

This run meant more than just distance. A few months ago, I had a blood clot out of the blue, which led to further tests – including one that raised some concerns around my prostate. It was a heavy few months. Multiple consultant visits, scans, bloods… and a whole lot of mental noise.

I’m relieved to say all my latest bloods came back in range this week 🙏 Hopefully that puts the big C-word to rest. But I’ll be real – it shook me. I’ve had to dig deep mentally. But it’s also been a wake-up call, and I’ve made some massive changes since:
• Stripped back my diet – loads of anti-inflammatory foods, fruit, broth, and intermittent fasting.
• Cut out the casual drinks.
• Got moving again. Just simple runs, a few circuits – but wow, the mental shift was instant. Felt like flicking a switch.

This scare’s made me appreciate life in a whole new way. And I know I’m lucky. I’ve spoken to a few mates recently who’ve had similar prostate scares – I guess we’re all getting to that age now. If you’ve been through something similar, just know you’re not alone and chat about it because that can make such a difference 🙏

And of course, this journey made me think of my mate Guy. What he faced with unshakable courage. He taught me about acceptance – and the power of being present with what we have. Miss you G 💙🦋

So yeah, today was more than just a run. It was a little win for the body, a big one for the soul.

Swipe for a few pics from the trail – and if you’re on a comeback too, physically or mentally, I’m with you 💪

Back to Where It All Began 💥💪🏻

It’s been a while since we finished the Battle Fit Against Brain Tumours 300 and even longer since we last hit the Battle Fit bootcamps. Life has shifted – I’ve been pouring everything into my new venture and to be honest, fitness had taken a serious backseat.

Add to that a recent blood clot scare which completely knocked me sideways, and it’s been a strange journey. Truthfully, I’ve been a bit afraid to train again. But over the last week, something’s changed. I’ve started a full body detox, made some big mindset shifts, and committed to reclaiming my physical and mental health.

So today, me and Bates took it right back to where it all started – Penrose Park – the original Battle Fit stomping ground. We smashed a tough kettlebell circuit, proper old school style, and left in a puddle of sweat and high vibes. Even Oscar was buzzing to be back, music blasting, good energy flowing 🔥

This isn’t about going mad on fitness every day. It’s about showing up, rebuilding, and taking back control of health and happiness 💪🏻

If you’re on a comeback journey too, let me know what you’re doing to get back to your best – and if you’re missing the Battle Fit fam, drop a 💪 below.

One Year Without Guy – But Never Without His Memory

Today marks one year since we lost Guy. It’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed. This day gives me a moment to reflect on all the incredible memories we shared—our adventures, the laughs, the times we got up to mischief from Play School right through to adulthood. He wasn’t just a friend; he was a brother, and I miss him dearly.

This past year, we’ve done everything we can to honour his memory, and one of the biggest ways was through the Battle Fit Against Brain Tumours 300. Just recently, we had the privilege of handing over the final donation to The Brain Tumour Charity—a total of £5,144.65! Anoushka, our charity representative, drove all the way down from Exeter, and we gathered at Helen’s (Guy’s mum) house to share stories—both about the challenge and, more importantly, about Guy.

Something truly special happened while we were there. A little butterfly fluttered in, the exact same butterfly that Helen had drawn in one of her sketches. It was one of those moments where you just know… Guy was with us.

Later today, I’ll be heading up to his burial ground for something I’ve been waiting to do for a long time. Earlier this year, Helen gave me a can of Guy’s Polly Ale—a beer he brewed himself. I never found the right moment to open it, but today feels like the perfect time.

Losing Guy so young was cruel. He had so much more life to live. But maybe, just maybe, he was needed elsewhere. What I do know is that we made an impact. We ran 300 miles, we raised thousands, and we did something that will help others fighting brain tumours.

To everyone who supported us, followed the journey, donated, and helped keep Guy Anderson’s memory alive—thank you. His legacy lives on, not just in our hearts, but in the difference we’ve made.

For Guy, For Glory. 💙

Hey Battle Fit Crew!

It’s been a while since we posted, but today, Oscar, Bates, Michelle, and I tackled the Penrose 10k—and it was awesome! For me, it was my first run since before Christmas, and after wrapping up the 300-mile Battle Fit Against Brain Tumours fundraiser, which we raised over £5000 so thank you everyone that supported us 💙, anyway I’ve definitely slacked on getting out there. Huge thanks to these guys for meeting up and hitting the trails with me!

What really struck me today was how much I missed that group energy—the camaraderie, pushing each other, and just being together. With Battle Fit taking a much-needed break while we reevaluate its future, today reminded me how valuable these meetups are—not just for fitness, but for the social side too.

So, here’s what I’m thinking: how about we trial some regular meetups? Maybe one run and one Boot Camp each month? It’d be a great way to reconnect, stay active, and keep the Battle Fit family spirit alive.

Let me know what you think in the comments! Your feedback will help decide whether we go for it. .. so comment away!! 💪🏻💪🏻

One Week Since We Finished… ✅ 💙🦋💪🏻

It’s been a week since Bates and I crossed the finish line of the Battle Fit Against Brain Tumours 300. What a journey it’s been. This weekend, Storm Bert has been smashing the Cornish coastline, and it’s made me reflect on how incredibly lucky we were with the weather. It feels like someone was watching over us🦋

Monday, the day after we finished, was surreal. For 8 months, this mission had been such a huge part of my life, and now it was done, I was left with a real sense of emptiness. Since Guy’s passing, the 300-mile run had been my focus, my way of channeling grief and celebrating his life. To complete it was both a triumph and a sense of loss.

Bates and I caught up Monday for a walk and a hearty breakfast. We talked about how we both felt—proud but a bit lost now that it was over. It was a moment, reflecting on what we’d achieved and the memories we’d made along the way.

The rest of the day was quiet. I found myself sitting looking at the mantelpiece where Guy’s ashes had been since we began this journey. It hit me hard & stirred a wave of emotions I hadn’t quite prepared for.

As the week has gone on, I’ve given myself space to rest. I took Monday and Tuesday completely off work and stayed away from posting anything on social media, just letting myself settle back into some sense of normality.

But this isn’t the end. We’ve raised over £4,000 for the Brain Tumour Charity, and I know we can keep pushing to make a difference. Every donation, every share, every bit of support has helped not just me and Bates but countless others affected by brain tumours.

Thank you to everyone who has followed this journey, supported us, and helped keep Guy’s memory alive. Let’s continue to celebrate what we’ve achieved and keep the donations coming to help fund vital research.

If you’d like to donate and support this cause, the link is still live. Let’s see if we can push towards £5,000 together.

Handing Guy Home 💙🦋💙🦋

Yesterday marked the end of the , but the most emotional moment wasn’t crossing the finish line – it was handing Guy’s ashes back to his mum.

After 300 miles of carrying Guy with me, every step filled with his memory, it was time to hand him home. Helen’s embrace, her whispered words of pride and gratitude, brought a lump in the throat and tears welling. As I hugged her, I felt the weight of this journey, not just physically but emotionally.

Carrying Guy’s ashes has been an honor and a privilege, a way to keep him close on this mission. And while handing him back felt like a form of closure, it was also a reminder that Guy’s memory doesn’t end here. It lives on in his family, in his friends, and in the incredible support we’ve had throughout this challenge.

This journey wasn’t just about running – it was about love, remembrance, and the hope for a future without brain tumors. Together, we’ve raised close to £4,000 for , and we’re not done yet. Let’s keep fighting for those who need it most.

💙 Thank you for being part of this.

The Final Day – “For Guy, For Glory”

📍 The Lizard ➡️ Goldsithney
Sunday, November 17th

Waking up this morning was surreal – knowing it would be the last time I packed my bag for this journey, placing Guy’s ashes inside, ready to hand them back to his mum at the finish line. The emotions hit hard, but there was no time to dwell. It was dark as we headed out, torches lighting the trail, and the only thing on my mind was finishing strong for Guy.

This section of the coast was familiar to me and Bates – we’ve run it before, and we knew the terrain would test us. But today was different. Friends joined us along the way, sharing laughs and stories that lifted our spirits and made the miles fly by.

Meeting Neil and Darren in Porthleven, childhood bandmates of both mine and Guy’s, was something truly special. For a moment, it felt like “Maple” was back together, the four of us, with Guy in spirit.

As we pushed into our home town Praa Sands, the nostalgia hit. We were also greeted with cheers and hugs from & pushing us on 🙏🙏

The final stretch was electric and soon we turned off the coastal path for the last time and powered into Goldsithney, turning the corner to a wave of cheers and support from everyone waiting for us at the pub.

We did it. 300 miles of rugged Cornish coastline. A mission of grit, laughter, and emotion, all for Guy.

This journey has been life-changing. It’s been about raising money for and honoring Guy’s memory. But it’s also been about realizing the strength of community, friendship, and love.

💙 Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey. We couldn’t have done it without you. Every donation, share, and cheer means the world. And though the journey is over, you can still help us reach our £10,000 goal. Every pound makes a difference in fighting this disease.

Let’s keep Guy’s legacy alive.

The Final Countdown 🦎🦎💪🏻💪🏻

With The Lizard ticked off, there’s just one stage left in the . Every step so far has been an emotional mix of laughter, pain, and deep reflection.

We’ve been blessed with perfect weather tbf, good company, and plenty of adventures along the way – but what really keeps us going is the reason we started this: to honor Guy’s memory and raise funds for brain tumor research.

Tomorrow, it’s all or nothing. The final leg: The Lizard to Goldsithney – “For Guy, For Glory.”

Thank you to everyone who’s supported us so far. Your donations, shares, and words of encouragement are helping us push through to the end. If you haven’t already, please consider donating to – every pound helps fight this terrible disease.
