I am a fully qualified dance teacher with the International Dance Teachers Association, with over 10 years of experience in teaching ballet, tap, modern jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, fitsteps, salsacise, gentle keep fit (and more!) to pupils of all ages. I have performed professionally in various shows, all over the UK, and continue to keep my love of performing alive with the Birkenhead Operatic Society every year in the prestigious Liverpool Empire Theatre! Kathryn Smith School of Dance is a friendly dance school, offering dance lessons in ballet and tap for children aged 3 to 7, and musical theate and showdance for children aged 5 to 10, in Dunham on the hill, Frodsham and Helsby. I hope to expand and offer classes to all ages in the future. I want to offer a professional approach to teaching whilst always ensuring children are having fun and enjoy learning how to dance. I have great plans for the future in terms of offering dance exams with the IDTA, medal tests with the UKA, performances on both a small scale and a bigger scale including theatres stages! I believe that 'treading the boards' can offer invaluable experience and unforgettable memories for children when it comes to performing! From my years of experience in teaching, I firmly believe that children learn well in an environment in which they can have fun and enjoy what they are doing. This is exactly what I aim to do in my dance school, I have always loved sharing my passion and love for dance with others, and can't wait to get started!
