Could golf help tackle dementia-related isolation? ⛳️

We recently hosted an Age and Dementia Inclusive Golf Forum at our Centre for Golf in Dornoch, exploring the growing evidence behind golf as a powerful tool for improving wellbeing, social connection and quality of life for people living with dementia.

The discussion highlighted how accessible, community-based activities can help reduce isolation while supporting both physical and mental health.

Honouring James Braid’s work at Golspie

This year marks 100 years since James Braid helped shape the course at Golspie Golf Club, work that still influences the way it plays, looks and feels today.

Braid’s approach was rooted in the land itself, enhancing the natural landscape rather than overpowering it. A century on, that balance of challenge, character and setting remains at the heart of the Golspie experience.

This legacy will be celebrated during the James Braid Centenary Festival of Golf, taking place from 24–27 September 2026.
