As women move through perimenopause and menopause, hormonal shifts can impact muscle mass, bone density, metabolic rate, and overall strength.
But here’s the important part: these changes are biological, NOT inevitable.

This weekend reminded me why movement is such a powerful force for women navigating menopause. It’s not just about fitness—it’s about freedom, connection, and reclaiming joy.
On Friday, I joined friends for a seafront run—the longest I’ve done in a while. We encouraged each other every step of the way, enjoying the sound of the sea and the beautiful warm sunshine. It was invigorating, empowering, and a reminder that we’re stronger together.
Then on Sunday, twelve of us set out on a 13-mile walk along The Pilgrims Path in the South Downs. We visited seven beautiful churches, each offering a moment of reflection and calm. At the top of the Long Man, we paused for a picnic lunch, soaking in the views and the laughter. We ended with tea and cake—because nourishment comes in many forms.
This is the heart of EmpowerHer: movement that honours your body, moments that feed your soul, and a community that lifts you higher. Whether you’re running, walking, or simply showing up for yourself—every step is a celebration of strength and sisterhood.
