Tonight, I run my final HS run as a Run Leader, finishing on 385 runs in 5 and half years (which include a sizeable COVID lockdown period). I has been a long road (I have no idea how many miles/km), it has had its up and downs, along the way.
Thank you to everyone who has made the journey a memorable one, and I feel proud to have been a Run Leader and to support so many people who were taking a brave step to start running.
Of course, it is a sad occasion for me personally to be leaving the group, just as it has been sad when I have seen former Run Leaders and Runners leave. But sometimes, the world moves on and you come to realise it is time for you to move on too.
So, I wish all the Runners remaining in HS2, the very best of success in their new adventure. Be brave, make it your own group and shape it to how you want it to be. Look after one another, support one another, go that extra mile (pardon the pun) to be helpful and friendly and I am sure the group can continue to be successful.
Best wishes for the future,
Alan
