Today is Zoffany’s Sports Day. ❤️

I remember being a little girl and looking out into the crowd.

I don’t remember seeing my mum.
I don’t remember seeing my dad.

The one memory that has stayed with me all these years was after a Christmas concert. I had a solo singing part and another parent came over to tell me how beautiful my voice was. I still remember it because nobody from my own family was there to tell me.

Now, both my parents worked hard, just as I do. Life isn’t always simple. But when you’ve grown up feeling unseen, you understand just how important it is to show up when you can.

Today I’ll be stood there cheering on my little girl.

Do I get anxiety around groups of parents? Absolutely.

Do I always feel like I fit in? Nope.

I know some people understand me and some people make assumptions about me because of the way I look, the way I speak, or the confidence I carry. 🤪

But none of that matters.

Because today isn’t about me or our differences

It’s about my little girl looking into a crowd and seeing her mummy there.

It’s about community. Or it should be!

It’s about showing our children that regardless of our differences, our backgrounds, our opinions, or our struggles, we can all stand side by side for the people we love most.

As adults we can be complicated. As parents, the job is simple.

Show up.
Cheer loud.
Love hard.

Because one day these moments become memories.

And I want Zoffany to remember that no matter what was happening in life, her mummy was always there. ❤️

🌳 Remember when parks were full of kids climbing, swinging, balancing and hanging upside down?

Today, many children spend more time on screens than they do using the amazing facilities right on their doorstep.

This morning I was looking around one of the parks here in Heckmondwike and it reminded me just how lucky we are to have these spaces available to us. They aren’t just for children they’re outdoor gyms, confidence builders and places where strength, balance, coordination and resilience are developed.

At 45 years old, I can still climb, swing, balance, hang, lift my own bodyweight and move in ways that many people half my age struggle with.

Not because I’m special.

Because I’ve never stopped moving.

Your body is designed to move. To climb. To jump. To balance. To run. To play.

The sad reality is many adults lose these abilities long before they lose their health because they simply stop using them.

Fitness doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes it’s as simple as getting outside, using what nature and your local community have provided and challenging your body to do what it was designed to do.

Age isn’t the barrier.

Stopping is.

There are moments in life when you sit back and realise that not everybody has walked the same path as you.

Imagine being a child and feeling abandoned.
Imagine growing up without the love, protection and guidance that most people take for granted.
Imagine having no parents to turn to, no family to catch you when you fall, no one telling you that you’re enough.

That was my reality.

I spent years searching for love, acceptance and belonging. I allowed people into my life who saw my kindness as weakness. I was used, manipulated, abused and discarded by people I would have moved mountains for.

Why?

Because when you’ve spent your whole life searching for love, you’ll often accept less than you deserve just to feel it.

There were times I nearly lost myself completely.

Times I questioned my worth. Times I questioned my sanity.

Times I wondered why I seemed to attract people who only took from me while I continued giving.

But here’s the thing

Despite everything I’ve been through, I never became bitter.

I never stopped caring. I never stopped helping.

I never stopped believing that people could become better versions of themselves.

That’s why SXEFIT exists.

My mission has never been about six-packs, weight loss or fitting into a dress size.

My mission has always been about helping people find themselves.

Helping them build confidence.

Helping them become strong enough physically and mentally to face whatever life throws at them.

Helping them learn to love themselves.

Because nobody taught me how.

I had to learn the hard way.

A woman who was abandoned but refuses to abandon others.

A woman who was never shown enough love but chooses to give it anyway.

A woman who finally realised that her worth was never determined by who stayed, who left, who lied or who hurt her.

It was determined by who she chose to become.

One of the most powerful things you can do for your health costs absolutely nothing

Go for a walk.

It’s fascinating when you start looking at the human body and nature side by side.

🌳 Our lungs branch out like trees.
🌱 Our veins spread through our bodies like roots beneath the earth.
⚡ The tiny blood vessels in our eyes look like lightning striking across the sky.
🧠 Even our brains resemble the intricate patterns found throughout nature.

Almost as if we were designed to be connected to it.

Yet most of us spend our lives surrounded by traffic, factories, fumes, screens, stress, fast food and concrete. We rush from one place to another and wonder why we feel exhausted, anxious, disconnected and unhealthy.

Then we step into a woodland, a park, or a quiet country path

And suddenly we breathe deeper.

Our minds slow down.

Our shoulders drop.

Our bodies relax.

Trees don’t just look beautiful. They absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. They literally help us breathe. Research continues to show that spending time around nature can help reduce stress, improve mood, lower blood pressure and boost overall wellbeing.

🚨 THE SKINNY JAB ERA 🚨

Something happened on Saturday that made me laugh.

I went out with friends and before we even got there I said:

“Listen, I’m going to need feeding.”

Nothing massive. Just food.

So there I was happily eating my sweet potato fries and chicken kebab while everyone else didn’t eat

Later that night I got home and my stomach was telling me I was hungry again, so I ate a protein meal.

The next morning?

A full breakfast.

One of them looked at me and said:

“You’re the smallest one here and you haven’t stopped eating!”

Exactly.

Because food is fuel.

Your body is not a punishment machine.

It’s an engine.

And engines need fuel.

We’ve entered this strange era where people celebrate eating less and less.

Skipping breakfast.
Skipping lunch.
Living on coffee.
Counting every calorie.
Trying to survive the day on as little food as possible.

Meanwhile, I’m over here eating, training, working, running a business, raising a child and recovering from injuries.

Two weeks ago I came crashing off a stepladder and injured my knee.

Today it’s almost recovered.

Why?

Because every single day I give my body the building blocks it needs to repair itself.

Protein.
Healthy fats.
Smart carbohydrates.
Water.
Movement.

The body is incredible when you support it.

For years I’ve watched people chase quick fixes while ignoring the basics.

But health isn’t built by starving yourself.
