What are you dreaming of and how can you takes steps to make that a reality? For me it's having more down time and exploring new craft activities. I recently did pottery throwing and loved it

Hip openers are great because they can prevent hip issues and help fix them

Problem: Tight or weak hip muscles can mean you have a smaller range of motion, less stability, poor posture or pain⁣

A solution: Stretch and strengthen your hip muscles with hip opening exercises⁣

𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀⁣
🌟become a stronger, more flexible you⁣
🌟improve your body alignment & balance⁣
🌟boost your circulation⁣
🌟reduce your risk of injury⁣
🌟lower pain in the hips and back⁣

This head to knee pose also stretches out the hamstrings and groin. It's a good one for the runners amongst us plus it can also be enjoyed in a more restorative version to calm a busy mind

One of my favourites, particularly for noticing the difference between how it feels on each side of the body

I love this line from Judith Hanson Lasater’s ‘𝘈 𝘠𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘠𝘰𝘨𝘢’ and use her thoughts for the day as well as my own in many of my classes⁣

We can forget that yoga is not just a string of exercises. Instead it’s more of a path of self discovery as we unearth sensations and knowledge about our physical bodies, but perhaps more importantly our mental state, strengths, weaknesses, personality traits etc⁣

We might find ourselves in class being judgemental of others, or criticising ourselves and not listening to or respecting our bodies ⁣

Let’s make each movement a mindful one and discover our true state⁣

Yoga encourages me to pause & listen a little more to how I am feeling, what I can do to find a little more ease, what my heart needs 💜 ⁣

I find myself checking in, doing a little scan of what’s up multiple times a day⁣

Often it’s rest and sometimes life get’s in the way of that so it gets put on hold until after I’ve done this or that⁣

Today marks the astronomical beginning of the spring season in the Northern Hemisphere with the length of day and night nearly equal in all parts of the world ⁣

🌼 How about getting outside & looking around…⁣

🐦 Birds are migrating northward, following the path of the sun. We’ve had several murmurations of starlings here just recently as the little critters gather before heading off. ⁣
The increasing sunlight also inspires birds to sing ⁣

☀️Can you feel the sun getting stronger? ⁣
Both we & the animals around us can discard our heavy coats (maybe keep them on standby just in case it’s freezing again in another week!)⁣

🪴The first day of spring is a traditional time to start in the garden. I’m not a great gardener but I don’t mind pruning and planting and certainly love to sit in it ⁣

🥬 Also are you craving fresh foods after a long winter? Perhaps try some new recipes using seasonal produce⁣

But what about when we are at work, have deadlines, are already behind, have the house to clean, meals to shop for & prepare…🤯⁣

Can you take just 10 minutes? ⁣

Do you feel guilty abandoning chores? Are you a slave to your to do list?⁣

Is the idea of doing 10% less scary or wonderful? ⁣

I try & carve out a little me time each day. It doesn’t always happen but when it does I am such an all round happier person⁣

I still like my to do list but sometimes have to put that aside for my health & sanity ⁣
