Thirteen years of To The Max Fitness - and what a journey it’s been.
From starting out at 18 years old in a small judo club, charging £12 an hour and, if I’m honest, not really knowing what I was doing, to where we are today - ten full-time staff, another four joining us soon, and our brand-new TTMF HQ finally coming to life.
The new HQ will be everything I’ve wanted TTMF to become - a completely new gym facility, a state-of-the-art wellness and recovery space, and our own members’ café, all built around helping people improve their health under one roof.
Since the day I started the business, the reason behind it has never really changed. I’ve always wanted to grow TTMF so that we can help more people and do a better job of helping them. Every bit of profit we’ve made has gone back into the business, the team and improving what we can offer our members.
We’re definitely not perfect. There’s still loads we can improve, and there probably always will be. But that constant desire to get better is a massive part of what TTMF is.
The health and fitness industry can be incredibly confusing. There’s a lot of poor advice, quick fixes and, at times, practices that I don’t think are particularly ethical. We want to be different - combining evidence-based practice with coaches who genuinely care about what they do and the people they work with.
It’s never just been about getting someone fitter or helping them lose weight. It’s about taking people on a journey towards better health, body composition, confidence and ultimately a happier life - often achieving things they genuinely didn’t think were possible.
We’ve now had the privilege of helping more than 3,000 people, which is pretty mad to think about considering where it all started.
Thirteen years later, I’m probably more excited about what we’re building than I’ve ever been.
Thank you to every member, coach, member of staff, friend and person who has supported TTMF along the way.
There’s plenty more to come. 🩵
