Good luck to our U11s Maroon team who take on Seaton Carew CC in their U11s Plaque Play Off Final this morning.

Due to the festival taking place at the club, this one has been switched to Felling Cricket Club who are kindly hosting us. A 9.30am start for this one.

We've been supported all season by Bridges Medical Practice and we really appreciate their support as our junior season comes to a close in the next week.

A fantastic effort by our U9s and U11s yesterday as the summer of cricket continues.

Our U9s were runners up in a festival at Greenside CC. The team were fantastic and came away with silver medals for their efforts. A long day for the team but they stuck at it. Well done everyone and thanks to the coaches and those who supported the team. A special thanks to Greenside for organising

The U11s continued their winning run and defeated Spennymoor CC in their semi-final clash. Some great performances along the way. We'll play Seaton Carew CC on Sunday in the final. This will take place at Felling CC due to festival taking place at the club.

Both teams were supported by Bridges Medical Practice.

The season continues for our U9s and U11s today.

The U9s travel to Greenside CC for a festival later this morning where they'll play a number of games throughout the day. An 11.00am start at Greenside.

Our U11s entertain Spennymoor CC in their play off semi-final clash with a 9.30am start for this morning.

We'd like to thanks Bridges Medical Practice for their support this season. They've sponsored all our junior teams in 2026 and it is greatly appreciated.

The Under 11 Maroons’ season will continue for at least 1 more week after another fantastic win in their play off this morning!!

Cole got us off to a great start with a wicket early in the game in some very wet conditions. We probably bowled a few more extras than normal but that was understandable with a ball that was like a bar of soap.

As the rain cleared Ryhope batted sensibly and put on a good total. Ben getting a mention at the interval from their coach about how well he kept wicket in tricky conditions!

When it was our turn to bat we got off to a fantastic start with Harry holding up an end as his partner, Spencer, went into full 20/20 mode smashing 4 after 4 ending with a personal score of 30+!!
Each pair continued to chip away at Ryhope’s total with some steady boundary hitting and as our final pair of Alistair and Henry came in to bat we were on our way to victory. Some great boundary hitting from Alistair meaning a pretty convincing victory for The Quay!

We march on now into next week’s knock out game (semi-final i’m led to believe) against an as yet unknown opponent!

Throwback Thursday.

We found this photo from an U13 game in 2023.

There’s now regular 1st team, 2nd team & Academy XI representation from this group, with a load of runs & wickets shared amongst them!

Despite a bit of COVID disruption early on, when we restarted our junior set up in 2020, the aim was to have clear progression from All Stars Cricket & Durham Cricket Foundation into junior teams & onto establishing themselves in the senior set up.

As the conveyor belt keeps producing outstanding young cricketers for our club, all having fun & making life long friendships…this is exactly the post we’d hoped to be sharing 6 years on!

The future is bright.

Great win by our very young under 13’s tonight chasing 77 to beat Shotley Bridge.

Great to have Spencer and Ted playing their first games for the team.

Aaron and Seb got 3 wickets each, 1 for Henry & a run out.

George played a mature, fantastic innings to retire with 30no, supported by Aaron (15) & Cole (10) in the run chase. Brilliant to see Henry and Ted see us home with Ted getting the winning runs. Both cool as a cucumber under pressure at the end!

Over all great team performance. We play Consett in the next round (quarter final) with the date TBC.

The future is bright.

Good luck to our U11s Maroon as they travel to South Shields Cricket Club this morning for their final league game. 9.30am start.

Unfortunately no U9s or U11s Gold this morning as the opposition struggled for a side so these have been called off.

A big thanks as always to our junior sponsors at Bridges Medical Practice who have supported us all season. Thanks guys.
