EST 2014 ESDS is a thriving dance school with its own fabulous premises on Heathfield High street in the heart of East Sussex near the Kent boarders catering for all age groups and abilities. ESDS Provides current triple threat training for the all round dancer with industry and agency links should that be required. Our classes are for everyone no matter what you wish to be. From the once a week d

ancer who comes to socialise and gain confidence to the dancer who wants a career in the Performing Arts. All our teachers are fully qualified and professionally trained, with many either still in the industry or retired from it before returning to teach our knowledge onto the next generation. ESDS offers Bi-Annual shows as well as tri-annual I.S.T.D. exams of which we obtain a 100% pass rate and a 82% Distinction level. We also offer Dance Festivals, Workshops along with a huge array of performing opportunities. Many ESDS students have gone onto Professional Colleges to train including:

Miss Jenna had an extensive professional career for over 10 years including her biggest acclaim was playing Frenchy In The Italian Tour of Grease, world tours, West End shows and Cruise ships. Having trained professionally at The Royal Ballet School, Arts Educational School and Northern Ballet School she absolutely loves putting her passion into ESDS and all that train there. The School offers dance classes in ISTD Ballet, ISTD Modern, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical, Pointe Work, Jazz, Commercial, Street, Acro and musical theatre for children from the age of 18 months upwards. ☀️ STUDIO CLOSURE & SUNSHINE PHOTO COMPETITION! ☀️

Hi everyone,Due to the severe weather, we have had to make the difficult decision to close the studio this evening and tomorrow.

As you all know, we absolutely hate closing, but the heat is just immense right now.
Even with our fans and air conditioning units running, it is simply not safe to have our usual large groups of children in the building.

As always, child safety is our paramount priority.

We are so sorry for the late notice and we are going to miss all of those gorgeous little faces!SO, LET’S DO SOMETHING FUN INSTEAD!

Stay Cool This Week! ☀️ Important Studio Updates & Relaxed Uniform Policy

Due to the extreme heat forecast for this coming week, we are adjusting our schedule to keep our dancers safe, cool, and comfortable.

Here is what you need to know:

Schedule & Class Changes
Shorter Studio Times: We are reducing the length of time students need to be at the studio.

Class Consolidation: We are combining classes where possible to streamline the day.

Timetable Updates: We will consolidate the timetable this evening and share updates soon.

What We Are Doing to Stay Cool?

Adjusted Training: Dancers will focus on stretching, port de bras, and adage to minimize heavy cardio.

Studio Cooling: We have multiple fans running and will use the two air conditioning units bought last year.

Frequent Breaks: Students will take regular, mandatory water breaks throughout every session.

Relaxed Uniform Policy, wear What Is Comfortable: While leotards are cool, we know some children dislike tight clothing touching their skin in the heat.

Movement-Friendly Gear: Students may wear any clothing that is appropriate and safe to move in.

Fun Week Ahead!Fun & Focus: Since there are no exams this term, we are ditching the sweaty cardio to keep things fresh and exciting! Snippets & Corner Work: Alongside our low-impact technical work, we will be learning fun snippets of routines and practicing corner work instead of full-out dances.⚠️

🌟 HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our amazing girls, Isla, Polly, and Alicia! 👑

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that all three have been cast in the professional children’s ensemble for this year’s pantomime, Cinderella, right here in Tunbridge Wells!

Making it into a professional panto is a massive achievement. Performing in a production like this creates such magical, core memories that stay with children for a lifetime. We could not be prouder of them as they step into this exciting chapter! 🎉✨

We also want to send a giant round of applause to every single one of our children who went out there and auditioned. The industry is incredibly tough, but putting yourself forward is a victory in itself. Keeping up that drive, pushing boundaries, and gaining audition experience is exactly how we grow. You are all superstars, and we are bursting with pride! 💖

🎉 Incredible News for the ESDS Family! 🎉

I am bursting with emotion and pride, and it has been so difficult keeping this a secret until the contract was officially signed!

Huge congratulations to our amazing alumni and teacher, Kira, for securing a contract with the Royal Opera House in their brand-new contemporary show! 🩰✨

I have watched Kira grow since she first walked into ESDS as a 12-year-old pupil. I had the privilege of training her until she was 16, and they are truly the most talented, humble, and kind person you could ever meet.

As your teacher: Seeing you achieve your ultimate dream is the most amazing, unforgettable moment. I couldn't be prouder of you. 🥹❤️

As your "boss": We are going to miss you so, so much! You brought a whole new dimension to ESDS with your incredible contemporary teaching.

The good news is, it is never a true goodbye. Kira will remain part of our faculty and family, and she has promised to continue choreographing for us (when they can fit it in! )

While away on contract, we wish her the absolute best. We cannot wait to sit in the audience at the Royal Opera House, point at the stage, and proudly say:

‘That is an ESDS student, and that is our teacher!" 🌟

Looking Ahead to September 🍂 we have been on the hunt for a new contemporary teacher for a while. Finding the perfect fit to follow in her footsteps was difficult, but we believe we have found someone truly special and unique who will bring their own stamp to our amazing students. .
