Heanor town wolfpack uâ7s v Redwood colts Milan uâ7s
Todayâs game seen the wolf pack take on redwood colts in the reverse fixture of the season, todayâs captain was Blake westbury-Spencer.
Both captains headed to the centre of the pitch to do there dutyâs. Blake won the kick off for Heanor.
It was the Milan boys who took the eairly advantage from an unfair challenge missed by the referee. The ball was put in to Heanors box the boys was scrambling round, Reuben came to collect the ball when one of the redwood players went in with studs showing making reuben drop the ball and redwood putting it in back of the net to take the lead.
The next few minutes the two teams seeing chances narrowly missing the target, it was Heanor who levelled the score from one of Reubenâs big kicks the opposition brought the ball down under control for mason to nick it off him, powering through the colts defence and a powerful strike seen it fly in to top of the netting.
The game was on now and wolf pack and redwood was both battling.
A indirect free kick was awarded to Heanor. Mason and Harry both standing over the ball, Mason tapped the ball forward for Harry to hit it just missing the top corner.
Back down the other end of the field the ball was put out for a redwood kick in near the corner . The colts shot from the kick in and seen it go in the back of the net. Heanor appealing the goal as itâs against the rules seen the ref say it was a corner kick and awarded the goal.
Taking it on the chin and straight from kick off the wolf packs Blake passed it out to Harry on the wing, he took on numerous plays before shooting from the far right side of the pitch megging the Milanâs keeper in the process bringing the scores level within 20 seconds.
The 1st half was drawing to an end and has seen some great football played. Just before the half time whistle confusion from Oscar and Reuben and a clearance gone in the wrong direction, Heanor found they was picking the ball out back of the net once more.
Half time and the boys come in for a deserved drinks break.
Redwood took to the centre for the kick off.
The wolf pack was quick to even up the game from Harry Taylorâs dribble in, he dribbled past not one but two Milan players before firing his shot in to the top corner.
Few minutes of what was end to end football, Heanor was able to take the lead for the 1st time in the game. Reuben making a save did one of his big kicks again, this time controlled by Blake, turning one of the colts players he seen Tijan making the run in to the box. Playing a nice ball through Tijan he worked the ball past the redwood defence and finished it with style.
Heanor boys was hunting for more goals now to further there lead. Mason was brought down on edge of the box for a free kick. Mason stepped up to take it and hit a lovely curling ball only for it to rattle the cross bar and out for a redwood goal kick.
The game was In the dying stages of the game and redwood scored two back to back goals and was looking like they would take all 3 points.
There was no more time left for the Wolfpack to equalise once again as the ref blew for the final whistle. The boys shook hands and congratulated each other.
Another unlucky defeat for the Wolfpack, but the boys gave it there all throughout the game just couldnât see it out. Well done to all the boys involved.
Coachâs man of the match
Harry Taylor- was a pain for redwood down the wings today, when asked did an amazing job in defence too making some brilliant tackles and Scoring 2 cracking goals aswell.
Mason Holland- grabbing him self a goal and was very unlucky not to get two more especially the one hitting the cross bar whatâs still ringing now. Held up the ball well upfront and made some great tackles.
