Welcome to the Balcombe & Lindfield Dance School where your child has the opportunity of learning ballet, tap and modern dance. Children from the age of 2 years are offered a fun introduction to the world of dance and encouraged to perform using familiar nursery rhymes, children's stories, pr

ops and costumes. Students can perform at various local fairs, care homes and pantomimes and dance on stage for our Open Day. Students from the age of 4 upwards prepare for our Rainbow Awards and Examination Session which is usually held at the end of the Spring term. Nikki Gower is a member of the internationally recognised dance organisation, the National Association of Teachers of Dancing Ltd, which ensures that the highest standards of dance are maintained. Nikki qualified to teach dance in 1985 having trained at the Elizabeth Wood School of Dance and has been teaching for over 25 years. This is the Dance School’s 18th year. The Balcombe Dance School was formed in 2003, expanded to Lindfield in 2004 and again to Haywards Heath in 2016. All staff are fully qualified, insured, First Aid trained and DBS checked. DANCE SCHOOL UNIFORM
New leotards, cardigans, tights, socks and shoes are available for sale in class. All Classes wear pink ballet and black tap shoes. Pre-school : Pink leotard with attached skirt
Reception & Yr 1: Aqua leotard with attached skirt
Years 2 & 3 : Burgundy leotard and georgette skirt
Year 4 + : Black leotard and skirt (leggings from age 13)
A second hand exchange service is offered free of charge (for items in good condition) or items may be purchased for £5. Students should have the correct school uniform and hair must be neatly fastened, in a bun where possible. TERM FEES
Class fees start from £5.00 per 30 minute class. Terms are usually between 10 and 12 weeks and fees are due by the first day of each term (with the exception of new students who may pay for the first class only with the remainder due if they wish to enrol for the term. A full timetable of our 20+ classes per week is available on request.

- SUMMER DANCE CAMP 2026 - Monday 27th - Friday 31st July -
A week full of dance and creativity, students will meet new (and old) friendship groups, enjoy games activities outside and perform in a Show on the last day. Still a few spaces available on this camp open to all children who love music and dance (4 to 13 yrs). Days are from 10am-4pm and include craft projects, treasure hunts and, of course, dance sessions and costumes galore.

We are delighted to invite dancers to join us at:
SUMMER DANCE CAMP 2026: Monday 27th - Friday 31st July.
(2nd week fully booked)

Open to all children with a keen interest in dance from the age of 4 to 13 years. Five fun-packed days of dance and creativity introducing many different styles of dance (Ballet, Bollywood, Flamenco, Musicals, Modern). Each day is from 10am-4pm and includes craft projects, treasure hunts and group play activities as well as three dance sessions with costumes. Students bring their own snacks, packed lunch and drinks and enjoy breaks and activities outside and a performance for parents on the last day. 🎉🥳 Hooray, the exam results are in and I am delighted to say that everyone passed with great results. Well done to all candidates. I look forward to handing out certificates and report forms at the end of the first class. (The Rainbow Awards usually come in by the end of May.)
I look forward to getting back to dance classes and seeing all our students the week commencing Monday 27th April.
