It was years until I thought enough was enough. I was unhappy with how I looked, and knew I needed to start looking after myself. I didn’t move enough, emotionally ate and drank, and felt so unhealthy. I needed structure in my life to give me some meaning. I wanted to feel better and look better. I made small changes, educated myself on nutrition, started to move more, and I started seeing results. I was so proud of myself. I was doing something for me; which in turn was improving my mental and physical health, changing my mindset, and then later on my career.

So tomorrow is D day! 40 weeks down and it seems my prediction of an early baby was wrong. Wishful thinking. But saying that I am making the most of having my last few days of freedom without a newborn stuck to me. Training, bath, pamper, rest and me time is just what I needed and feeling so much better for it! Let’s see what this week brings...hopefully a baby 👶🤞🏻

Happy Monday! Last week of work so will be busy trying to fit everything in before I try to switch off a little. I won’t be gone for long hopefully, just a few months so please do keep messaging if you need me and I’ll get back to you ASAP! I’m so lucky to do a job that I love, which also keeps me healthy and active, and have amazing clients. Thanks everyone for the support! Anyone out there scared to weight train when you’re pregnant?! Don’t be. Your body will thank you. Trust me. I would never do anything to put my baby, myself or my clients in danger. Obviously it’s all down to the personal but on whole there is so much good in keeping strong whilst pregnant and after. If you’d like to know more just message me 😘

First time back in the gym for a while?! You’re bound to be a little nervous, and that’s ok. For me it feels like a second home, I’ve missed it a lot, but it’s bittersweet that I know I won’t see it much as I’d like to. A few little tips to get over those first day jitters: go with a friend, go when quieter, have a plan, and plug into some tunes 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Backs and knees. They can be a killer. My lower back has given me so much problem in the past and I know this is the same for many of you. It’s very easy to shy away from doing things to upset/aggravate your problem areas. However this is the last thing you should do. Obviously we have to be careful and seek professional advice, but if we don’t work on those areas things will never change or get worse. Strength training for my curved spine was one of the best things I could have done for it. Don’t feel you can’t do something because you feel your body is letting you down, there is always a way.

Why do you train? I love to feel strong, and I do train for aesthetics but the MAJOR part of training for me is my mental health. To remind myself who I am, to help with anxiety, depression, to give me time to myself, to achieve something, to get my thoughts together. I could go on. It’s just so much more than exercise.

I’m starting to slowwwww down! Not to stop tho. I’ve been training around 5 times a week with 2 rest days but this is now going to around 4 sessions a week. Not because I’ve scheduled it that way, just because each week is different. If I feel good, I will train, if I’m knackered I won’t. I know training is great for me and my baby so will keep doing something all the way up until birth. If you need any help or advice about training when pregnant please get in touch. Happy hump day 😘
