TBD Tip: SET A TIMELINE AND MINI GOALS

For many people, the simple addition of a deadline means the difference between action and stagnation. If there's no end point, the start point is also invisible.

If you don't set a deadline it's too easy to keep putting things off. Mark your goal deadline on your calendar, tell a friend, or post it on your page. Declaring it publicly will hold you accountable!

Along with your end point, set a procession of mini goals along the way to generate momentum. For example, if your aim is to lose 15 pounds and get into your skinny jeans by summer, then you could set:

1. A goal each month for body fat or weight loss
2. A goal each week for healthy eating and training
3. A goal each day for meal planning, training, and hydration

All three are equally important. Each time you reach a mini-goal, you've made progress which will encourage you and propel you toward your end point!

Happy training!

So Exactly How Hard Should You Go?

Simple: as hard as you possibly can… and then some.

There’s no downside to going hard. Only growth and gains – both physical and mental. Just be sure to pick a workout routine that matches your goals and ambition.

The best way to make sure you’re actually giving it 100% is to work with a good quality coach (wink wink), trainer, or motivated workout buddy. If you’re a solo gym-goer then your best bet is to increase your focus during your workouts. This means dialing in and focusing completely on the exercise at hand. Push any extraneous thoughts out of your mind, turn your phone on to airplane mode, and concentrate fully on what you’re doing.

You need to train your mind to deal with the discomfort of feeling completely exhausted and pushing on anyway. This means focusing on what you’re doing rather than how sh*tty you feel in the moment. Stay present and don’t let your mind wander, otherwise you’ll just convince yourself to just take a break or even worse call it a workout.

The fastest way to make progress

For those of you who don't know, there are many different ways to make progress with your training.

You can increase the load i.e. lift heavier weights, you can increase the intensity i.e. do more work in the same timeframe, and you can even do the same amount of work in Less time.

Unless we're training to increase anaerobic work capacity only one of these methods really makes sense.......increasing the load.

It doesn't matter how many supersets you add and how you decrease your rest periods I can guarantee if you're still lifting the same weights today that you were this time last year or even 6 months ago, you aren't making progress.

You simply can't get bigger and stronger without lifting heavier weight.

The fastest, easiest and simplest way to make progress without turning training into rocket science is to add weight to the bar.

If you're stuck and need help progressing get in touch!

Hey guys, I'm really excited to be rolling out a NEW version of the TBD Lean Body 8ight experiment where I help people transform their bodies online. It's more cost effective than in-person training which is pretty cool too!

I am charging to be part of this experimental group (a mans got to eat!) but it'll be much cheaper than when I roll this out fully.

If you're interested just send me a quick message here on FB. I'll probably keep it small, just 5 people or so, so message me right away and we can see if it's rights for you.

Let's do this

Transformation Tuesday!

An absolutely outstanding transformation by Jack this week, showing that it's possible to combine a busy work life with quality gym time.

Jack has remained consistent with both training and nutrition, often eating far more than he used to prior to starting with TBD and the results are quite clear to see.

Very proud of Jack, keep up the awesome work buddy.

Fitness is not for everyone, as it takes huge commitment and effort, it all comes down to what you as an individual are prepared to put in, and what you are willing to give up in order to get what you want.

Bodybuilding and fitness in general puts your body through many things, as your body experiences drastic changes to your diet and exercise. Only the consistent will get the returns they deserve.

Stay on track

Here we are a month after we all made fantastic new plans to change various things in our lives. New Years Eve always has us assessing life and trying to work out where and what we can add to our existence.

But how many of you are still committed to those changes?

So many dreams and aspirations fall by the wayside as the buzz of an exciting new challenge falls away and slowly over time you end up back in the same rut you were desperate to get out of.

Stick with it. Nothing worth having comes easy. If you don't see immediate results dig deep, continue pushing forward and know that you will be rewarded in time. Trust the process.

Consistency is key and with small incremental progress the seemingly insignificant improvements soon add up to monumental success.

Stay focused, stay on track, be awesome.
