Notice to all friends of Sam Cowley Golf at Haywards Heath Golf Club

At the end of August this year and following a thoroughly enjoyable and successful 5 year tenure as Head PGA Professional at HHGC, I will be moving on to the highly prestigious West Sussex Golf Club to commence the next exciting chapter of my career.

I’d like to thank HHGC and friends of Sam Cowley golf for your wonderful support and fun memories over the years and will of course look forward to staying in touch.

I’d like to take this opportunity to invite anyone that may have valid lesson or Pro Shop vouchers to present and use them prior to the 31st July 2025.

Tortoise Fitting Experience, this Friday 2nd May Haywards Heath Golf Club!

Having the ability to recognise and interpret the quality of ball striking, through feel and sound is essential for player development.

In much the same way that a pianist learns and internalises keys and their assigned musical notes. If the pianist hits an incorrect key, the incorrect note informs him. Over time, that continual feedback during practice has trained him to know every inch of the keyboard.

This works for golf in much the same way!

Last night saw another excellent ‘Tips and Tipple’ evening at Haywards Heath Golf Club, with Chris Jess leading the session on grip and club face control.

Pictured below is a little Trackman Teaser for you in anticipation of our exciting new addition going live over Easter 🤩

The evidence and clarity that Trackman delivers serves as an incredibly valuable reassurance when we make adjustments to our technique.

Note how this players club path quickly reduces from 14.6 degrees ‘in-to-out’, to 6.7, also improving the attack angle (was upward, now downward) and low point in respect to the ball (it was before the ball ‘B’ and changes to after the ball (A)).

As experienced golf instructors, we can tell you that this is a significant and impressive improvement!

The best part though, we didn’t ask the player to change a single thing in their swing. We simply provided a comprehensive understanding of sound grip fundamentals and recommended a small but highly influential adjustment.
