Would you jump in to save your friend ?

The Answer: No !

It is vital to know that the safest thing to do is:
1:. Call for Help! Find an adult, lifeguard, or call 999
2. Find a floatation device: Throw something buoyant to your friend and encourage them to float on their back.

This week is RNLI Drowning Prevention Week !

Swim Hub are proudly supporting this campaign and will be ensuring all our swimmers understand this important Water Safety Message.

Our Squad sessions are the peak of our group journey.

This is where "learning to swim" transforms into learning to train.

While Squad is designed for swimmers working through Stages 8, 9, and 10, we welcome any swimmer with the heart and stamina to take on the challenge!

What happens in Squad?
We move into advanced territory with tumble turns and competitive starts, helping swimmers get "club ready" if that’s the path they wish to pursue.

Whether you want to join a club or not, mastering longer distances and building endurance is the perfect way to maintain lifelong health and swim fitness.

We integrate the Rookie Lifeguard skills - essential for safety and a fantastic foundation for those interested in a future lifeguarding career.
Squad is about more than just lengths; it’s about confidence, capability, and nurturing the “swimmer for life.”

Development

Our mission at The Swim Hub is to empower every child to become a “swimmer for life.”

While only a small percentage go on to be competitive, we believe every child deserves the skills to be safe, strong, and capable in any water they choose.

Our Development phase is where we move beyond the basics and build the technical foundation needed for sport, safety, and adventure. In Development, we focus on:

Building endurance, so that swimmers can swim 100m continuously (and we encourage them to go further if capable)

Refining strokes for the competitive swimmer, and introduce the egg-beater kick—a much needed skill for Water Polo!

We introduce standing dives and head-first entries, giving our swimmers the confidence and control needed for the local swim club or safe deep-water entry. Mastering surface dives and underwater confidence is an essential skill for snorkelling, surfing, and future lifeguard skills.

Water Safety and Personal Survival skills are developed even further to ensure swimmers know how to perform these skills fully clothed.

As a proud “Swim England” school, this phase combines Stage 6 & 7, Water Safety 3, and Water Skills 5 & 6.

We aren’t just teaching them to swim; we are encouraging them to excel. Whether they want to join a swim team, dive club, water polo team, or venture into open water sports—we’ve given them the tools to succeed.

Want to refine these skills further…then next stop SQUAD!

With a rock-solid Foundation in place, it’s time for…….. Progression !

This is where we turn core confidence into efficient movement.

What happens in the Progression phase?

The Strokes: We move beyond the basics, and it’s time to talk technique! improving efficiency, and developing the "feel" for the water.

Increased Water Safety: levelling up water safety skills to ensure our swimmers are prepared for deeper water and more challenging environments.

Building Stamina: We start increasing distances and introducing the aquatic skills needed for a lifetime of swimming.

As a Swim England Swim School, this phase combines Stage 4 & 5, Water Safety 2, and Water Skills 3 & 4 from the framework.

The skills learned within Progression empower swimmers to be independent enough to participate in recreational aquatics. Whether it’s hitting that 25m milestone for Scouts (eg joining a raft race) or gaining the confidence needed for kayaking and sailing, this is where those dreams become a reality.

Next stop: Development!

Introducing: Foundation

Our mission at The Swim Hub is to empower every child to become a “swimmer for life” and support them in whatever aquatic avenue they choose.

To do that, we need a rock-solid base. That’s why we are introducing our “Foundation” classes.

In the Foundation phase, we focus on:

Introducing Water Safety basics: We don’t treat water safety as an "extra"—it’s a priority.

Building Confidence: We focus on the ability to travel and float independently, ensuring body position is perfect now so they can progress faster later.

As a Swim England Swim School, This phase combines Stage 2&3, Water Safety 1, and Water Skills 2 from the Swim England Framework.

We aren't just teaching them to swim; we are building the foundation for a lifetime of adventure.

Next stop: Progression!

Introducing: THE SKILLS LAB
(Formerly known as Race Club)

Over the last 3 years, we’ve watched our "Race Club" evolve into something special…..A dedicated, safe space for our older swimmers (12+, Stage 6 and up).

We’ve listened to our teens. Not everyone wants to dive into the high-pressure world of competitive swimming, yet they still love the water and want to keep swimming for fitness and fun. The Skills Lab is that place.

It is also an "open door" for our past swimmers who are on their competitive journey. We know it can be mentally and physically demanding. We offer the relief, joy, and "community hug" that returning to your roots can provide.

Whether you are currently training hard or have been away from the pool for a while, we are here to remind you why you fell in love with the water in the first place.

What happens in the Lab?
Stroke Clinics: Refining technique on all 4 strokes.
Starts & Turns: Diving and tumble turns.
Rookie Lifeguard: Learning essential, life-saving skills.
Water Polo Basics: An introduction to the teamwork and fun of the sport.
Community: A place where fitness meets fun and friendships grow.

We aim to a build a safe space to learn new skills, enjoy the pool, and build a "Swimmer for Life."

We are so excited to introduce Discovery - our reimagined journey for swimmers aged 3+.

In our Discovery sessions, children are introduced to the water through the power of play. Our lessons are filled with exploration, helping little ones discover how their bodies move, alleviating fears, and encouraging those first brave faces in the water.

We are a proud Swim England School, so while your class name has changed to Discovery, your child’s progress is still tracked against the official national framework. You’ll still see those "I can" moments, Puffin, and Duckling awards pop up in your Soakly portal as they master each skill!

At The Swim Hub, it is important to us that children are allowed to achieve those milestones at their own pace. We believe in teaching the child, not the checkbox—ensuring awards never define their journey or limit their progression.
Our aim is simple: to help every child become a "Swimmer for Life."

Supporting YOUR Swim Journey.

At The Swim Hub, we've always believed that learning to swim is a personal journey. No matter what age you decide to learn, or however long it takes, we are here to support you in becoming a "Swimmer for Life."

Our mission is to give you the skills to stay safe in the water, whichever aquatic sport takes your interest. To better reflect this, we are giving our Swim School a little visual upgrade!

We are still very much a Swim England swim school, and we are encompassing the skills needed within their award scheme to better reflect our ethos.
Keep an eye on our page as we update you through the coming days on our new stages of the Swim Hub Journey.
