I didn't want to do that training session.

This morning I have:
- checked in with clients
- walked the dogs
- been to the academy
- painted two walls

So I really didn't feel it, but in the house is my wife and two kids who need me to be at my best for years to come. So if a 40 minute workout is the price I pay for being there for them, then guess what, the workout gets done. Make yourself harder to kill, and get your health and your training on point.

This is the message Emma, a new client, sent me after just her first workout.

We have to make so many important decisions every day that we often end up with decision fatigue, and when it comes to walking into a gym and coming up with a programme to do, that often becomes one decision too far, which is when the walk on a treadmill becomes the go to option, no need to think about it, just get on it turn it on and walk.

Having a coach in your corner to take away all the decisions leaves you free to just do the work, celebrate your wins, but not sweat the small stuff.

If consistency gets results, then Loti hitting 150 workouts at the Academy is certainly helping achieve great results.

When training factors in your energy levels, how busy your week is, and how your body feels, you can start to make real progress.

Chasing numbers and progression on every single workout was fine in our 20s when we had unlimited time and very little stress; now, with businesses to run and families, hitting movements that keep your joints in good condition and keep you feeling energised and operating at full capacity is far more important.

Kate's story is amazing because I remember the day that she walked through the doors to the Nutrition and Training Academy for the very first time. She came through the door and said, "I'm not going to stick to this, but let's see how long I last".

Kate was like most of us, unhappy with how she looked and felt, knew she needed to do something about it, but felt lost. Lost in the online information and lost for time, being a mum, a wife, and working, she felt completely overwhelmed about where to start.

And, here she is now, 100 workouts completed, knowing that consistency beats perfection every single time; this is the cornerstone for getting results.

We took simple actions to get Kate to this point:

- 2 workouts per week

- Daily movement (walks)

- Implemented a sleep routine that worked for her.

Here's one of our clients, Julie, sporting her new 100-workout t-shirt.

One of the things most of my new clients want is consistency. To find a plan that they enjoy and can stick to, not just for 12 weeks but for the long term.

Consistency is the biggest factor in making new habits stick; it doesn't matter how beneficial something is if you can only do it for a week or two.

At the academy, we work hard to ensure that everyone's plan works for them as an individual and that anyone who joins the team adds to the community and benefits from the group.

Yesterday, my workout was only 20 minutes. Does that mean that it was a waste of time?

Absolutely not, I had a really busy day, 9hours of face-to-face coaching split between my semi-private and 1-2-1 facilities. It left, as you can imagine, very little time for a long workout or much else.

I truly believe that our bodies were designed to move and they definitely work better when they do.

So, with this in mind, I like to do something every day, either a training session or a walk. Even though I only had a short amount of time, I still got in the gym and moved.

Was it Optimal?

Probably not, did it make me feel better, give me more energy and a sense of achievement?

100% it did.

You don't have to wait until everything is perfect; you just need to do something, get your body moving to get results.
