3 years of Si 💪🏻

This week’s Shout-Out Tuesday goes to the one and only SIMON! 💪

Simon has been part of the HEYL CrossFit family since November 2023 and has become a familiar face in our legendary 5:30am crew. 🌅

At 44 years young, Simon brings a fantastic attitude to every session. Whether there’s a barbell involved or not (although we all know that’s his favourite part 😏🏋️‍♂️), he turns up ready to work, ready to learn, and ready to give it his all.

One of the things we love most about Simon is the energy he brings to the gym. His positive attitude, friendly personality, and willingness to encourage others make him a brilliant part of our community. He helps make those early mornings a little easier and a lot more enjoyable for everyone around him.

Thank you for your hard work, consistency, and for being such a valued member of HEYL CrossFit. We’re incredibly grateful to have you as part of the team and can’t wait to see what you achieve next! 🙌

For over 8 years, Charl has been a huge part of our community and truly part of the furniture here at HEYL CrossFit. Whether she’s chasing a heavier sn**ch, perfecting her clean & jerk, working hard on those toes-to-bar, or keeping us stocked up by buying all the eggs 🥚, she always gives 100%.

Charl is everything we love about our community—friendly, welcoming, supportive, hardworking, and incredibly consistent. She turns up, listens, learns, trusts the process, and gets the rewards that come from years of dedication and effort.

She’s always got time for a chat, always makes new members feel welcome, and is a fantastic example of what being part of a community is all about. And let’s be honest… she’s got some pretty great hair too! 💁‍♀️

What a weekend ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible HEYL CrossFit community for coming together on Saturday for our charity Murph fundraiser in support of Prostate Cancer Research.

From every run, rep, cheer, donation, bacon sandwich, coffee, and bit of support shown throughout the morning… thank you. 🙏

Seeing members, friends, family, and non-members all come together for something bigger than fitness is exactly what our community is all about. We’re proud of every single person who showed up, pushed themselves, and helped raise money for such an important cause.

This one meant a lot to us. ❤️

Together, we continue to prove that fitness can change lives both inside and outside the gym.

🔥 6 Years Of Pete! 🚨

Today we celebrate one of our early morning legends…
PETE BROTHERIDGE ☺️💪

Pete has been part of HEYL CF for an incredible 6 YEARS, and what a brilliant example he is of what consistency and hard work can do.

At 56 years old, Pete is proof that showing up, staying disciplined, and trusting the process always pays off.

The man LOVES a lift 🏋️‍♂️
LOVES a 5:30am start 🌅
And honestly… we love him for it 😂❤️

Pete just quietly gets about his work week after week. No drama, no fuss — just consistent effort and steady progress. And because of that, he’s come such a long way since the day he first walked through our doors.

That consistency is his real superpower.

He earns his rewards through hard work, patience, and simply never missing the opportunity to improve. The kind of member every community is lucky to have.

Pete, we all absolutely love having you at HEYL CF and this is your special shoutout moment from all of us ☺️🙏

This past weekend was about so much more than fitness ❤️

Our HEYL community came together to take on Murph, push through every mile, pull-up, push-up and squat — all while raising money for Cancer Research UK in memory of Terry Mulhearn.

From first-timers to experienced athletes, every single person showed courage, heart and community spirit. The atmosphere was unreal. Cheering each other on, suffering together, laughing together and finishing side by side — that’s what makes this place special.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone who showed up, donated, supported, judged, cooked BBQs, made coffees and gave their energy to such an important cause.

This is bigger than a workout. This is community. ❤️

9 years (this July) of Sophie Collier

Today we celebrate one of the real foundations of HEYL CF…
SOPHIE COLLIER ❤️

Sophie has been with us for around 8½ years… maybe even 9 this July, and honestly, she’s become part of the furniture here ☺️🙏

One of the most loyal, loving, caring humans you could ever ask to have in a community.

Now… if you’ve ever seen Sophie walking around the gym with the famous resting bitch face 🤣 you’d probably think she’s about to tell someone off… but the reality is she’s one of the kindest and most supportive people in the building. Always happy to help new members, always checking in on people, and always there when someone needs encouragement.

What makes this one special is how much life has happened alongside this journey…

We’ve been through highs and lows together.
Divorces.
Separations.
PBs.
First movements achieved.
Bar muscle ups.
Life changes.
No kids… then kids… and now her kids are training in the gym too ❤️

That’s what community really is.

Sophie has grown with this place and this place has grown with Sophie. Through every season of life she’s remained loyal, supportive, and someone we genuinely treasure having as part of HEYL CF.

An incredible athlete.
An amazing mum.
An amazing friend.
And one of the most important people in our community.
