What a fantastic day on the water yesterday at the NRC Newquay Gig Club Rowing Women’s Gig Championships! 🌊🚣‍♀️

​Huge efforts right across the board from our crews, taking on tough competition and tricky Newquay conditions:

​A Crew: 1st place in their heat, booking their ticket straight into today's quarter-finals! 🔥

​B Crew: A brilliant 3rd-place finish in a hard-fought battle.

​C Crew: Fantastic rowing to cross the line in 6th.

​Now it's time to do it all over again. We're looking forward to our A Crew lining up in the very first heat of the quarter-finals this morning at around 9:00 AM.

We’ll be set up outside ASDA Hayle this Sunday (30th August), and we’d love for you to come over and say hello! Huge thanks to Asda for letting us use the space.

Our rowers will be putting in the miles on the rowing machines with some erg challenges throughout the day and we might even have one set up if you fancy hopping on and having a go yourself. We’ll also have one of our racing gigs there with us, so feel free to come and have a proper look at the boat up close.

We’ll have tickets on hand for our 50th anniversary raffle, too. There are loads of brilliant prizes to win (including a £600 Newell's Travel voucher, local B&B stays, pub meals, and hampers), with all money raised going towards restoring our old racing boat and buying vital club equipment.

If you’re doing your shopping or passing by on Sunday, pop over, cheer on the rowers, and grab a ticket! 🚣‍♀️💛💖🎫

🎟️ Hayle Pilot Gig Club 50th Anniversary Grand Raffle! 🎟️

Our 50th Anniversary raffle will be drawn later in the year, raising vital funds for the restoration of our old racing boat, as well as crucial maintenance and equipment to keep the club moving forward.

Tickets are available to buy directly from our club members, but you can also pick them up in town! A huge thank you to two wonderful local businesses who have kindly agreed to sell tickets for us:

🚣‍♂️ HAYLE PILOT GIG CLUB FUNDRAISER & RAFFLE! 🚣‍♀️

We’re taking to the rowing machines! A huge thank you to our hosts and sponsors, Gilbert’s, for having us!

📅 When: 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM - Friday 14th August

Our rowers will be tackling continuous 1,000m relay challenges on the rowing machines throughout the evening. Thinking of giving it a go yourself? We’ll even have a spare erg set up and ready if you fancy jumping on and testing your muscle power alongside us!

Invasion of St Ives harbour complete. 🏴‍☠️

Our ladies and Open squads took full advantage of perfect conditions today for a quick trip over from Hayle. (Don't worry, we left the St Ives gig boats intact!)
