At Old Mill Stables, Lelant Downs, we offer work-based learning placements in partnership with Haddon Training for young people aged 14+ with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

✨ 1, 2 & 3-day placement packages available

Our programme is designed for young people who benefit from an individually supported educational pathway.

THE FRIDAY RIDING CLUB

Fancy learning to ride, getting fitter and meeting new people?

Our new Friday Riding Club is a relaxed, social group specifically for adult beginners. Learn at your own pace, build confidence and improve your fitness, balance and riding skills alongside like-minded adults.

Stay for tea and coffee afterwards and enjoy the social side too.

Starting Friday 11th September
11am | 60 minutes | £35
Maximum rider weight: 13 stone

Come along on your own or grab a friend and start together. No previous experience needed.

Already ride? If you’re confident in walk, trot and canter and looking to get back in the saddle, we also have an adult group at 10am on Fridays.

🐴 SUMMER FAYRE & DOG SHOW – THIS SUNDAY! 🐶🎪
Come and join us at Old Mill Stables from 1pm for a fantastic family afternoon — and help raise vital funds for RDA South West Cornwall. 💚
Every cream tea, burger, tombola ticket and bit of fun helps support our RDA group and the life-changing opportunities it provides.
🌟 Thinking about riding? This is also the perfect chance for children to have an introductory pony ride, meet our lovely ponies and discover what riding at Old Mill Stables is all about. We’d love to welcome some new faces and future riders!
Our RDA stand will be there too, so come and chat to us if you’re interested in volunteering, know someone who might benefit from becoming an RDA rider, or simply want to find out more about what we do.

🏇🐴 What a brilliant day at the Racing to School demo! 🐴🏇

A huge thank you to Racing to School for giving our Pony Club kids such a fantastic opportunity. Everyone had brilliant fun, learnt lots and thoroughly enjoyed getting involved! 🌟

And after all the excitement, our day campers found the perfect way to cool off at the end of the day!

Lots of happy faces, great memories and a few rather soggy Pony Clubbers! 😂

🏇 PONY RACING FUN DAY — £20

Join the Race to School team for a fun, interactive day exploring the exciting world of horses and racing!

Royal International Horse Show 2026

Jack headed off to the Royal International Horse Show this weekend, and we’re so proud of everything he achieved.

Just qualifying for one of the biggest shows in the country was a huge milestone, and competing in such a strong class with only six placings was an achievement in itself.

After an eight-hour journey, Jack stepped off the lorry fresh as a daisy, gave a lovely ride and received some fantastic feedback from the judge.

A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of Jack’s journey. It takes a whole team to achieve moments like this.

Now it’s time for a few well-earned days off before we start looking ahead to the next adventure.
