Haverhill Wado Freestyle Karate HWFK continues to teach in the style of its wado-ryu traditions, but has also moved on to incorporate coaching the principles of modern day self defence

Haverhill Wado Freestyle Karate Club was originally founded in the mid 1980's under the name of Eastern Counties Wado-Ryu Karate Club. The Wado-Ryu style of Karate was first registered by Hironori Otsuka in 1938, four years after the term Wado-Ryu was first mentioned by Eiichi Eriguchi in 1934. HWFK continues to teach in the style of its wado-ryu traditions, but has also moved on to incorporate co

aching the principles of modern day self defence during its twice weekly training sessions. The club has students of all ages and abilities. Ranging from beginners taking their first steps in martial arts, up to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Dan coaches. The club trains twice weekly at the old Parkway Middle School in Haverhill on
Monday & Wednesday nights 6.30pm to 7.45pm .
