The next HRC 5K Time Trial of 2026 will take place on Thursday 26th March.

As usual, the Time Trial will start from outside the Leisure Centre at 7pm. There will also be a short briefing at 6.50pm. Please attend the briefing if you haven't run the HRC Time Trial before.

Since the clocks haven't yet gone forward, please wear HI VIZ - you won't be allowed to run if you don't wear it!

Non-members are very welcome but please consider giving a donation to our charity of the year, which is Memories are Golden.

Our next Adult Beginners Running Course will be starting on 21st May 2026.

This is a great opportunity to challenge yourself to run a full 5K. You'll run at your own pace (no pressure) while our team of dedicated coaches support and guide you through the process, helping you build confidence. It should also be perfect running weather in May so what could be better?

Member of the Month for February is..

Ray Mooney

Ray's running has improved dramatically over the last few weeks, demonstrated in both his speed and his technique. With some amazing achievements in the two cross country events during February, as well as a fantastic time of 1:12 in the Tarpley 10 on 22nd February, Ray should be extremely proud. In addition to being a great runner, Ray has now become a regular group pacer on Thursday nights and is always there to lend a hand when needed. He's also a lovely person - a real asset to the club

Well done to our 11 runners that competed in the Stowmarket Half Marathon on Sunday, the first race of the Suffolk Grand Prix!

This was a challenging course, not only because of the slightly more than undulating landscape, but also because of the high winds that ripped across the course in places. That said, the sun was shining and all our runners managed some great times. Well done everyone!

PBs A-Plenty at Cambridge!

HRC's annual outing to the Cambridge Half Marathon took place yesterday!

A fair few members (those who were lucky enough to nab a place before it sold out in record time) turned out to stretch their legs on this fairly flat and fast course. As one might expect from HRC, there were some great times achieved, including several new PBs. The cool weather definitely helped, at least in comparison to the somewhat warmer day experienced this time last year. Well done to everyone who ran - you are all marvellous!

Also spotted were a number of our members on the course - marshalling, handing out medals and bananas, or simply cheering everyone on. Thank you for volunteering or turning up to support, which is very much appreciated by all concerned!

The second HRC 5K Time Trial of 2026 will take place on Thursday 26th February.

The Time Trial will start from outside the Leisure Centre at 7pm sharp. There will also be a briefing at 6.50pm - please attend the briefing if you haven't run the HRC Time Trial before.

Whilst this is a club event everyone in the local community is welcome to come along and test their 5k speed. All we ask is that non-members consider giving a small donation to our charity of the year - Memories are Golden.

It's official!

This year, with support from our fantastic sponsor, and help from the amazing Running Club , Haverhill will have it's first EVER Cubico Colour Run!

When: 4th May bank holiday
Where: East Town Park, Haverhill
What: Beautiful bright powders flying through the air
How far?: Participants complete a short 2km fun run/walk/hop right through the colours, creating fantastic memories (and photos!).

Well done to our runners who took part in the penultimate race of the Suffolk Winter League last weekend at Pakenham.

The last race is this Sunday and hosted by us at Horseheath Racecourse!

With our (in)famous water splash, encouraging volunteers, delicious hot food and cake selection, it’s bound to be a brilliant morning and we’re very excited to welcome all the runners from the other Suffolk clubs!

Member of the Month - January 2026

We are pleased to announce that our Member of the Month for January 2026 is Cameron Wishart.

The award goes to Cameron for his fantastic 10K at the Cambridgeshire XC Championships, in a time of 46:05.

Cameron puts a tremendous amount of effort into his training and to see this pay off in this way is wonderful.

Well done, Cameron!
