A FANTASTIC DAY OF POWERLIFTING AT SAW!

It was great to see some of our SAW lifters stepping onto the competition platform for the very first time, alongside our more experienced lifters.

We were also delighted to welcome Special Olympics GB athletes from around the UK, competing as part of the qualification pathway towards the 2027 Special Olympics World Games in Santiago, Chile. 🇬🇧🇨🇱

A huge thank you to our SAW volunteers who gave their time to make today possible - from refereeing and running the competition through to spotting, loading and supporting the lifters throughout the day. ♥️

A brilliant atmosphere, some fantastic lifting and, most importantly, a really supportive day for everyone involved.

Congratulations to all our lifters and thank you to everyone who helped make it such a successful day! 👏

ALL SET FOR TOMORROW!

We’re looking forward to a fantastic day of powerlifting at SAW tomorrow, with 18 lifters taking to the platform.

We have a great mix of SAW lifters competing, from those stepping onto the competition platform for the first time through to some of our more established lifters.

We’re also delighted to welcome 7 Special Olympics GB athletes from around the UK, with the competition forming part of their qualification pathway towards the 2027 Special Olympics World Games in Santiago, Chile. 🇬🇧🇨🇱

A huge thank you to the 15 SAW volunteers giving their time to help us deliver the competition. We really couldn’t do it without them. ♥️ 💚

Good luck to everyone competing - looking forward to a great day!

Parkinson’s Strength at SAW 💙

This video means a lot to us.

Our Parkinson’s Strength members and coaches share, in their own words, what the sessions are about and the difference they can make.

It’s about much more than getting stronger - it’s the friendships, confidence, support and sense of community that have grown alongside it.

Wendy Roach’s husband Michael is part of this fantastic group, and on 4 October Wendy will be taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise funds to help us continue and develop our Parkinson’s Strength sessions.

Please take a few minutes to watch the video, and if you can, support Wendy’s Cardiff Half fundraiser.

Every donation really does make a difference. 💙

Wendy’s Cardiff Half for SAW Parkinson’s Strength 💙

On 4 October, Wendy Roach will be taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise funds for our SAW Parkinson’s Strength community.

Wendy’s husband Michael attends the sessions, which she describes as a “game changer”, helping improve his balance, mobility and giving him a real sense of purpose.

Wendy only started running 12 months ago with 5k parkruns and is now training hard for her first half marathon!

Every donation will help us continue providing our Parkinson’s Strength sessions here in Pembrokeshire.

If you’re able to support Wendy, we’d really appreciate it - and please give this post a share. 💙

SAW at the World Powerlifting Championships 🌍

On Monday 24th August at 7am, Conor Cremona will represent Great Britain in the U120kg Sub-Junior class at the World Powerlifting Championships in South Africa 🇿🇦

At just 17 years old, Conor will take to the world stage looking to battle for a podium finish across all three disciplines — squat, bench press and deadlift.

Conor won the British Championships in the U120kg class back in May 🥇, putting together an impressive:

🏋🏼‍♂️ 250kg Squat
🏋🏼‍♂️ 167.5kg Bench Press
🏋🏼‍♂️ 290kg Deadlift
🔥 707.5kg Total

We’re confident Conor will be at his best in South Africa and look to build on those numbers, with an opportunity to challenge for British Records firmly in his sights🇬🇧

We’re all behind you here at SAW, Conor. This is as big as it gets. Go out there and show the world what you can do! 💪
