We are incredibly proud to share that Strength Academy Wales has been recognised by Sported UK with the Outstanding Impact: Improving Health & Wellbeing Award.

The awards ceremony took place at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London and gave us the opportunity to celebrate alongside organisations making a difference in communities across the UK.

As part of the trip, our volunteers also enjoyed a tour of the Houses of Parliament, making the experience even more special.

A huge thank you to our members, volunteers, coaches, staff and partners who make this possible every day.

Thank you to Sported UK for this recognition.

A busy and successful weekend for the SAW team at the Home Nations Open Championships in Llanelli.

13 athletes competing across the two days, it was great to see so many solid performances, personal successes and competition experience gained on the platform.

Incredibly proud of all the lifters and the way they represented the club throughout the weekend.

A big thank you to SAW coach Grace Morris, who did a fantastic job supporting the athletes throughout the competition.

Many thanks to Weightlifting Wales & Llanelli Weightlifting Academy for hosting another excellent event. The organisation, support and atmosphere throughout the weekend were spot on

Well done everyone. Time to recover and get back to training for the next one.

Massive congratulations to Gary Nunn on an outstanding performance at his first British Masters National Championships

Competing on the national platform, Gary produced a superb series of lifts:

🏋️ Squat: 155kg
🏋️ Bench Press: 85kg
🏋️ Deadlift: 190kg – New Welsh Record
🏋️ Total: 430kg – New Welsh Record

To achieve personal bests and Welsh records at a national championship is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work and commitment Gary continues to put into his training.

Away from competition, Gary is also a valued volunteer at SAW, helping others on their own strength journey.

A brilliant performance and one that everyone at SAW is incredibly proud of 👏

This Volunteers’ Week, we would like to say a huge thank you to every volunteer who helps make Strength Academy Wales what it is ❤️

From our Weightlifting, Powerlifting and Strength & Conditioning coaches, to our Technical Officials, competition loaders and event volunteers. From those supporting our Parkinson’s Strength sessions and community programmes, to those helping with administration, governance, fundraising and developing links with local charities and community groups.

Whether you give your time every week or support us a few times each year, your contribution makes a real difference.

Quite simply, without volunteers, many of the opportunities we provide would not be possible.

Thank you for your time, commitment, passion and belief in what we do. You help create a welcoming environment where people can improve their health, build confidence, achieve their goals and feel part of a community.

We are incredibly grateful for everything you do.

Happy Volunteers’ Week from all at Strength Academy Wales 💚

Today’s session gave many of our younger Pembrokeshire athletes their first experience of a competition style environment

Fantastic to also welcome athletes from SPWLC for the session

A big thank you to our volunteer Technical Officials, coaches and older athletes for giving up their time to support and encourage the next generation of lifters.
