Portfield pool summer intensives photo dump 1 ❤️

Well we’re quite a long way behind in posting our summer intensive pics!
We spent a wonderful 3 weeks in the water, encouraging our swimmers to love the water and have lots of fun!
Progress made in intensive classes like these is easily visible and a great confidence boost.
Next ones Feb half term 2026.

On World Drowning Prevention Day we'd like to share 4 key water safety messages that we all should know.

*Stop & think - what could be the risks here? Check your environment for 10 mins when going in or being near water.

*Stay together - stay with friends, safety really is in numbers.

*Float - if you find yourself unexpectedly in water, lie back with your ears in the water so your face is clear of the water, relax, breath, make a plan.

*Call 999 - if you think someone is in trouble in the water, call 999 and ask for the coast guard.

Pembrokeshire has a wonderful beach lifeguard team. If you're heading to the beach, the safest place to swim & play is in between the red & yellow flags.

Did you know if you booked all 3 weeks of summer intensive classes it’d be equivalent to a whole terms lessons! And because it’s intensive, swimmers make faster progress too. Plus we only have 4 swimmers in a class - so progress is even faster again!
It’s a no brainer for getting kids going or past a tricky patch in their learning to swim journey.

Adult & child for 0yrs and up.
Pre school for 3-4yrs
Stage 1-4 for beginners & improvers aged 4-11yrs
Older beginners age 8-11yrs so they don’t feel out of place with younger swimmers

Week 1 - 22nd to 24th July
Week 3 - 4th to 7th August
Week 4 - 11th to 14th August

This week is the start of the RNLI Float To Live Campaign.
It’s such a simple skill but it could save yours or someone else’s life.
Please share

Lie back with your ears in the water so your face is clear of the water
Try to spread into a wide (star) shape to spread your weight
Use your arms & legs gently if you need, it’s ok if your legs sink.
We all float differently. Keeping your face clear of the water is the important bit.

We’ve spaces for a few swimmers in a one-off 6 week course starting soon at Swim Narberth.
Swim fun classes for ages 3yrs & over and upto stage/wave 5 or 6.
Standard classes for Stages/Waves 1 &2 (3 week one-off course).

Attend our summer holiday intensive classes at Portfield pool too and that’s a lot of summer lessons!
