Stats Amazing Aug 26

Possibly last one of the year, we do have a couple of post season games. But not sure anyone will hit a milestone.

2026 mini review

The 1s. The 2025 season saw the first team fall short of promotion in the last month of the season. So we knew we could do it with a small improvement.
And that is exactly what happend. The first team spent about 85% of the season at the top of league. We faced the team in 3rd very often, beat them, then played the new team in 3rd the next week. We managed to keep everyone else at arms length away from us. A perfect May, slight wobble in June, and just one defeat in July and August combined. No falling short this year, we powered to the league title with good margin of victory. 11 wins, 3 defeats and 1 tie.

The 2s.
2024 promoted from div 6. 2025 stayed up with a week to spare. 2026 was a hard season, possibly the most tight league in the Hampshire cricket league. But we stayed up just about. After the 4th July we were somehow 2nd in the league winning 5 out of 7 games played. We knew we were higher then we should be. But then a disaster of a run, mainly caused by lack of runs and not getting the last few wickets cheaply. Loss after loss, we went from 2nd top to 2nd from bottom. It all came down to last week. Last chance to get out relegation zone before todays predicted rain. And we won just, 7 balls to go.We did it, by the skin of our teeth. A huge win.

2026, operation get the 1s promoted. Tick. And champions to boot. Keep the 2s up, tick, just.

League stats. The ones nice and simple. The twos had a game played cancelled, as the oppo fell fail of league rules. So ive re added the stats from that played league game, which were then wiped.

Last team sheets of the season,

The Ones play Ryde. We are champs, cannot go down from 1st whatever happens. But we want fo finish the season with another win of course. We play Ryde , last time we lost by 2 wickets.

The Twos

Have a small chance of going down. But would need a lot of results to go against us. 4 points and we are safe, we may not need 4. But thats the first target of the game, followed by a win would be nice. Play Kerala, we won last time by 7 wickets with 7 balls to go.

Maybe some rain around. Hopefully not.

Massive congrats to the ones, who add the 2026 Div 3B title, to the 2022 Div 4 South title won 4 seasons ago. Bedhampton will play at its highest level next year (DIV 2B) since 2019 when we played Div 1 level. We then reduced the amount of teams we had and the 2s became the 1st team. Since that restucture, after the covid missed season. 2 x promotions , both times champions in 6 seasons. Well done all.

The ones can lose with zero points next week (we wont!) The table wont change, job done.

Here is the 2nd team table. Its the closest Division in the whole of the Hampshire Cricket league at the bottom. No other divison has the bottom team on an average over 12 points. Most other divisions the bottom team is on no where near that.

The 2s have jumped up to 6th. But we are not safe yet, we need a win next week or a good points loss, or lose with not great points and 2 of the teams below us to lose. Its very complicated!

Work to do, but up 3 places yesterday so a big jump up.

Well done the ones, twos one more week, one more push.

Today

We didnt have all our players but we won.

Bishops Waltham 168 all out.
From 101 for 1 to all out for 168. Stand in Skipper Lee Gray 6 for 14.

We lost 6 wickets chasing. But Stu Wainwright 83 not out held it all together.

A fantastic win. League Champions with a week to spare.

The 2nd team really needed a win and got one, just.

Bowling first. Fareham 173 for 7. Tom Coombs got an early wicket. Then a partnership. Followed by 4 wickets for James Whitewood, 1 for Gary Hounsome. But prob star of the show Gary Poling with a a super spell 1 wicket for not many runs. We prob could have finished the job for less then 173 but we didnt.

Batting
James Whitewood (29). Got us off to a steady start. It was Henri (32) and Spencer Hovey (28) who got us back up to the required run rate. When they fell we looked in trouble. But Chris Berry (22), Dan Frostick(12 not out) and Steve Parvin (9 not out), worked the singles and hit the odd 4 for us. We won with 7 balls to spare. A massive win a huge sigh of relief. Thats gets us out the relegation zone. Superbly skippered by Gary Hounsome.
