Last Sunday we played a friendly v Hayling Island at home.

It was a big win

What a day double win!

The 1s batting first, A bit of bad start, but the innings settled down when Stu wainwright (36) joined Martyn Hovey (55) at the crease when we were 3 down putting on a 79 partnership. There was plenty of runs in the last few overs mainly from Jag Bhist 28 off 18 balls. We ended up 219 for 8.

Bowling the wickets tumbled and the ecomony was very good, it took a while to get the 10th wicket but we got them all out in the end. Bishops Waltham all out for 117, a big win. Harry Robbins 3 wickets, Lee Gray and James c***s 2 each.

The 2s faced Fareham away, bowling first they went at a decent run rate but lost 3 earlyish wickets all from Tom Coombs (3 for 18), They rebuilt a bit, but then collapsed from 112 for 5 to 122 all out in 33.2 overs. Jethro got 3 wickets in 3 overs, Steve Andrews got 2 in his 5.2. Catches win Matches and we took 7, Max Cummings with 3 and 2 behind the stumps for Ian Rogers plus 1 each for Dan Hood and Jake Rose.

Batting, they bowled very well, it was not easy, but we inched along, and made use of the overs they did not bat, we had a bit of collapse ourselves but got over the line with 15 balls to go, 6 wickets down, star of the show was Gary Hounsome with 43 not out, Max cummings 20 stayed in for long time and saw off some good bowling. A great run chase.

A fantastic day 23 points both teams, followed by Lee Gray's quiz night in the bar,

The 1s, are top of the league with a decent margin above 2nd place.

The 2s go up 1 place from 5th to 4th.

Tomorrow! Both teams look to bounce back agter last week.

The 1s host Bishops Waltham 1s, we are top of the league, they are 5th.

The 2s travel to Fareham 3s, We are 5th they are 9th.

Both teams have not played these teams in the recent history. The 1s played Bishop Waltham 2s, 5 years ago but not the 1st team.
The 2s, have played Fareham 4s 2 years ago but have not played the 3s recently.

Lets get some wins.

Yesterday our Wednesday team had a nice friendly away to Shanklin, thanks for hosting us. A great place to play, plus a tea and plus good oppo equals a great day out.

But we batted first got 221 for 9 with Martyn Hovey top scoring with 52 not out, Harry Hovey 36, Alex Whitfield 32 and Aaron Saunders 30.

And when we bowled we took wickets pretty reqular, but they dug in scored some runs and very nearly batted thier 35 overs. 168 all out with 2.4 overs to go. 3 for Brendan Eddie, 2 each for Kieron Prior and Tom Eglon.

Great day out, good win.

Yesterday we played a home friendly v Sparshot.

We bowled first and kept them to a 156 for 6. 2 wickets each for Dan Hood, Tom Collins and Harvey B.

We lost early wickets but then Aaron Saunders and Harry Robbins with the runs again, both ret 50 not out, and we won by 6 wickets with still 6 and a bit overs to go.

Next up the Wednesday team pop over to Shanklin on (you guessed it) Wednesday.

Double loss yesterday,

Ones bowled first with good start 34 for 2 off 16. But the run rate went up. We got them all out on the last ball of the innings for 216 runs. 3 wickets for Harry Robbins, 2 each for Archie Mishra, Lee Gray and Lewis Roberts.

Batting. Bad start then a good recovery then a big collapse from 115 for 3 to 137 all out. Not a good day. George Parvin 52, Martyn Hovey 37.

Twos batted first it didnt go well 55 for 6 at one point. Managed to recover a bit, finished 126 for 9. Jethro Lewis and Ian Rogers 34 each.

Bowling good start 17 for 2 both for Tom Coombs. But then a 85 partnership. Which was finally broken by Tom (3 for 27) coming back on. There was some decent wicketless spells from Steve Parvin and Matt Pearce. But they crossed the line easy just 3 down with 7 overs to spare.

Just 263 runs combined both teams. Not enough.

2s drop into midtable. One postive is the 1s remain top of thier league.

Saturday the sun should be out!

The 1s travel to Hambledon, we are unbeaten they have not won a game yet, but have had lots of close games.

The 2s host Compton. They are top of the league we are 3rd. But we won this fixture last season.
