Saturdays 9-11am
Mondsays 7-9pm

All you need is a pair of football boots and a gum-shield. Founded in 2016, the Portsmouth Dreadnoughts Women's Team offer the opportunity to play full contact American Football. Contact Football requires players to get kitted up and develop techniques, many seen in the NFL. Suitable for players 16+. Training is open to all, from beginners to more experienced players. Monday 7-9pm at Havant Rugby club.

A message from Eilidh 💛

Firstly, I wanted to let everyone know that my surgery was successful and I’m now recovering in hospital while I wait to be discharged hopefully in the coming days.

I also wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has reached out since Saturday. I’ve received so many messages from teammates, coaches, players, supporters and people from across the football community. I may not have managed to reply to everyone, but please know that I’ve read your messages and every single one has meant a lot to me.

The support I’ve received over the last few days has been overwhelming in the best possible way, and I’m incredibly grateful for all of the kindness, well wishes and encouragement.

I’ve got a long road ahead, but this is a big step in the right direction and I’m looking forward to focusing on my recovery and seeing everyone back on the field!

Thank you all again for your support. It means more than you know. 🖤

Saturday’s game against the London Warriors was one of the toughest days our team has faced.

While the result didn’t go our way, football quickly became secondary as a number of our players suffered injuries throughout the game, with two members of our squad requiring hospital treatment.

With her permission, we can share that our teammate, Eilidh Currie, suffered a serious injury to her hip and pelvis, resulting in a dislocated hip and fractured pelvis. She remains in hospital awaiting surgery and faces a long road to recovery ahead. Anyone who knows Eilidh understands the huge impact she has on this team, both on and off the field, and we will be supporting her every step of the way.

The second player taken to hospital was admitted overnight for observation before being discharged home to begin their recovery. We also had several other players sustain significant injuries that later required hospital treatment that has now rendered them on the sidelines.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Hayling Event Medical, whose professionalism, care and support throughout the day was exceptional. Their team worked tirelessly to look after both teams during some very difficult moments.

We would also like to thank our players, coaches and support staff. The way everyone came together to support one another throughout the day was something to be incredibly proud of. We often talk about being one Thrashers Family, and Saturday showed exactly what that means.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has reached out with messages of support. The kindness shown by the wider football community has meant a great deal to our players and their families.

Not the result we were hoping for on the scoreboard today, but there are things far bigger than football.

It was a tough and physical afternoon that saw a number of our players pick up injuries, with several requiring medical attention. We’re incredibly proud of the resilience and determination shown by every player who stepped onto the field and battled until the final whistle.

A huge thank you to the coaches, officials, medics, volunteers and supporters who helped throughout what was a difficult day for everyone involved.

We’re behind every injured player and wish them all a speedy recovery. 💛🏈

Rain or shine, we are back in action this afternoon as we take on the London Warriors at Wide Lane Sports Ground.

The weather might be wet and windy, but that just adds to the spectacle!

🦅🇬🇧 PROUD OF OUR GB THRASHERS 🇬🇧🦅

This weekend, seven Solent Thrashers Women were part of the Great Britain setup as GB Women faced Germany in Coventry.

While the result didn’t go their way, representing your country is an incredible achievement and one that reflects the hard work, commitment and talent of every player involved.

Congratulations to Sarah-Jane Brain, Dani Brain, Kat Dale, Meg Thomas, Eilidh Currie, Pearl Denham and Tuva Strøm on being part of the GB squad and representing both club and country with pride.

To have seven Thrashers involved on the international stage is a fantastic achievement for our club, and we’re immensely proud of every one of them.
