As a person who loves the mountains, not being able to get out during lockdown is seriously making me sad.
However, MRT personnel remain active during this time, whether that’s to help locals lucky enough to live in close enough proximity to the mountains for a walk/climb out at their local crag or for the few who don’t and travel well beyond the permitted guidelines.

On 6 February, during a rescue, a member of Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was very seriously injured following a 150 metre fall. His injuries are life-changing and this fund is to provide the support he will need for the rest of his life.

Start of Season 2020/21 - Be Alert to Early Winter Snowpack Instabilities
A standby avalanche forecast service will be provided for the Northern Cairngorms and Lochaber regions during the months of November and early December. When significant winter conditions are present, SAIS avalanche forecasters will carry out field observations and produce avalanche hazard reports for publication on the SAIS website. Daily Avalanche Information Reports for the 6 operational areas of Lochaber, Glencoe, Creag Meagaidh, Southern Cairngorms , Northern Cairngorms and Torridon regions will be issued from Friday 11th Dec 2020.

What a fantastic shop!
Great staff, great products and great food which can now be enjoyed by those who really need it.

Marcus Rashford has been campaigning for the government to provide free school meals for those eligible over the holidays. While this has been denied, Outside Cafe would like to help in a small way and offer free meals for these children in our cafe over half term.

Please simply mention it to the cafe staff at payment, no questions asked.

It may not be your 5 a day but its filling!

It's been fantastic to hear of other businesses doing the same and lots of small businesses helping can really make a difference.

Great time this afternoon with Simon Stokes from Peak-Outdoors!
Cracking session working through climbing techniques and getting some routes ticked.
First fall too, just goes to show everyday can be a school day and you’re never to old to learn or be humbled by the rock!
