Are you keen to become a Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing Instructor, Hill and Moorland Leader, or Lowland Leader?

Are you a member of school staff or a volunteer who works with young people? We might be able to help you...

In 2019 we started a bursary funding scheme which turned out to be a great success and continues to be. To date we have awarded £22,575, towards course fees, to help school staff and volunteers who work with young people to get qualified.

We are keen to help wherever possible – support from AE bursaries is given to help train/assess leaders so they can lead outdoor activity courses and expeditions for young people in the future.

For 2025, we're pleased to be able to offer the following funding support:

✅A £50 contribution towards Rock climbing Instructor course fees.
✅A £100 contribution towards Mountain Leader course fees.
✅ A £100 contribution towards Hill and Moorland Leader course fees.
✅A £50 contribution towards Lowland Leader course fees.

Things don't always go to plan...

Unfortunately, last week's ice climbing course in Hemsedal (Norway), with return clients Ewan and Iain, was scuppered at the airport due to an airline/passport issue. So a quick rethink and plan B was devised, a weeks intro to Scottish mixed climbing instead.

We'd like to say a massive thank you for everyone's support this year.
2024 has been a super busy year for us - 1200+ participant days.

This year we've had a great time running:

✅A host of Mountain Training Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing Instructor, Hill and Moorland Leader, and Lowland Leader courses - 150+ candidates.
✅A whole bunch of great climbing and mountaineering courses with Climb2Recovery in the Peak, lakes, Eryri, and the Cairngorms.
✅A myriad of private guided and coached days out at the crag and on the hill.
✅A job lot of technical advice work for a variety of outdoor centres and companies.
✅Plus, we've awarded £1,300 worth of Bursary Funding to help train/assess leaders so they can lead outdoor activities for young people. This brings our total amount awarded since its inception in 2019 to £22,575.

We've popped a selection of photos together from some of these courses.

Our office will be closed for the festive period from 12pm on the 18th, so if we can help with any questions you may have please do get in touch. We will reopen again on the 6th of January, and we can't wait to get stuck into everything we have planned for 2025.

It's been great to be involved with Climb2Recovery, and all the amazing work it does, again this year. It's been a pleasure spending time at the crag and on the hill with all of you.
