Herts U19s Do It Again – Shires League Champions!

What a season it’s been for the Hertfordshire Under 19 County badminton team!

On Saturday 3rd May, we added another trophy to the cabinet by winning the Shires League Final, rounding off an incredible run of form with a well-deserved win.

This comes hot on the heels of the recent victory at ICT, making it a double celebration for the squad. The team have shown real determination, talent and togetherness all season – and it’s paid off in the best way.

Head Coach Kelly Risley said:

“It’s an amazing achievement to follow up the recent ICT win with another trophy – an incredibly proud coach.”

Huge congrats to the whole team – what a way to finish the season!

Congratulations to Anna Stewart, who was named the Tony Clarke Player of ICT 2025 for Hertfordshire.

Anna was outstanding across the four days, playing a vital role in both doubles and mixed. Her consistency, focus, and ability to perform under pressure made a huge impact on the team’s success.

The Tony Clarke Award is given to the Hertfordshire player who makes the most significant contribution over the course of the ICT – and Anna’s performances were key in helping Herts lift the trophy for the first time since 1997.

A well-earned recognition for not only her performance at ICT but also her dedication to the county – well done, Anna!
