⚽️ CUP FINAL ⚽️

Dunscroft United are heading into the cup final this Sunday with a massive opportunity at getting some silverware this season. With our league campaign not going how we would of wanted our full attention is now on this Sunday knowing we are one match away from lifting a trophy 👀

In the cup competition the lads have definitely earned the right to be in the final, beating 3 premiership sides along the way including Flying Childers, Scawthorpe Athletic and most recently Pollington. This has encouraged the lads massively to go into the game giving absolutely everything. With a big challenge in front of us in Edlington we know how good of a team they are and we have to be up for it if we want to get a result but after already doing this throughout the cup it’s a challenge we look forward to facing!💪🏻

The aim now is to go into the final Sunday giving 110% and leaving everything out there on the pitch and hopefully make it a day to remember! As always we ask now more than ever for all your support! Your support could be the difference and having every single person present to spur the lads on will definitely help us in being the 12th man!💯

After a few league games in the last few weeks both being against Harworth, firstly we played them at home and the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Yet again a result we felt should definitely of been more but we wasn’t clinical enough. Then yesterday we played them again away and this time coming out 3-2 winners. The gaffer throwing on a shirt for the first time in ages and putting in a decent shift at centre back! With a depleted side the lads did brilliant to turn up and get the win and this gives us perfect momentum going into this Sundays cup final.

Into the final we go!

An absolute top performance from the lads today as we faced yet another premier league side in Pollington. After already beating Flying Childers and Scawthorpe Athletic from the prem we knew we had it in us to beat yet another top side and that’s what we did.

From the 1st minute we took control of the game and always looked a threat going forward. Our first goal came when Brendan Jeffery was played through and finished his chance well giving us the all important lead. An error at the back meant we gifted them an easy goal to get back into it. From this we then carried on playing good football and shortly after Henry Tyers finishing off a brilliant team goal. On top we continued to play good football however yet again we conceded a rather slack goal and this meant we was level again going into the break.

HT 2-2

The message at half time was clear, keep on doing what we’re doing but with a bit more intensity and to keep the pressure on them as we knew they didn’t like it. Pollington did grow into the game in the 2nd half and looked more of a threat but Dunscroft defended well to not let them get any clear cut chances. Then a moment of magic, after coming back onto the pitch after having a rest, up stepped Brendan Jeffery yet again who got hold of the ball and got his head up and smashed an absolute rocket into the top right corner giving us the lead with only 10 minutes to go. The lads dug deep and grinded out the game meaning we now are into the final of the champions cup!

I cannot question the lads commitment and determination today. From start to finish we played some good football and yet again punished a premier league side.

We now face a very tough task of facing Edlington in the final but yet again we will be up for the challenge and go into the game giving it our everything!

Just a thankyou to the supporters for coming down today and giving us a helping hand, it never goes unnoticed👍🏻

this Saturday we head into a massive semi final as the lads look to retain the cup we won last year. We welcome a tough physical footballing side in westend terriers down to the main. As we head into the final few weeks off the season we would love to see as many faces as possible to push the lads on ⚽️

⚽️ CUP GAME ⚽️

After a quiet few weeks for Dunscroft, the lads are back this weekend at home in the semi final of the cup against a tough opposition in Pollington.

A later kick off this time of 1pm for us this weekend which allows us more than enough time to get everyone there nice and early ready for the challenge ahead.

This is a massive opportunity for the lads to get into a final this year so having as much support as possible is massive. So please can we ask that we have all the support of the village and get as many fans down to the main as we can to spur the lads on👍🏻

The bar will be open and we’re hoping for a very nice day aswell. Hope to see some familiar faces down there💙

❌ NO FIXTURE ❌

The lads have got this weekends game moved to a later date.

With stag parties, the lads girlfriends popping babies out anytime soon and a few other lads working, it was impossible to get a team together this week.

So we look to next weeks game against Scawthorpe. Details to follow👍🏻⚽️
