As centres hit 2,026km, they're continuing to clock up the distance as we battle it out between regions to see who can go the furthest.

🎉 Celebrate National Fitness Day Today with FREE Activities at Freedom Leisure! 🎉

At Freedom Leisure, we believe physical activity should be accessible to everyone, and National Fitness Day is the perfect opportunity to discover the benefits of moving more for your health and wellbeing. That's why This National Fitness Day, we're inviting everyone to get active and experience our fantastic facilities.
On National Fitness Day 2026, enjoy:

Join Active Hastings for an Age Friendly Activity Day on 21 October being held at Summerfields Leisure Centre.

🆓Save the date: Age Friendly Activity Taster Day 🆓
Wednesday 21 October, 12noon to 4.30pm at Summerfields Leisure Centre

Pop along and join us for free tea and coffee and try out some fun activities for free, such as racket sports, walking football and netball, chair-based exercise and Qigong. No experience is necessary; everyone is very welcome.

Throughout the day, you can also meet Jas, our Active Hastings GP Link Worker, Janet, Hastings Borough Council’s Age Friendly Communities Coordinator and local organisations supporting healthy ageing in your community.

You can book in advance at eequ.org/experience/34533 or simply pop along on the day.

Registration starts from 12noon and activities will start from 12.30pm.

This National Fitness Day, Freedom Leisure centres across the country are going head-to-head to see who can go the furthest.
Your mission is simple:
🚶 Walk
🏃 Run
🚴 Cycle
📏 Record your kilometres
Every centre has a target of 2,026km – but reaching it is only the beginning!
Once your centre hits the target, we want you to KEEP GOING!
Because this isn't just about reaching a number. It's about getting more people moving, having fun together and seeing just how far we can go when everyone plays their part.
You don't need to run a marathon. You don't need to be a fitness fanatic. Even a few kilometres can make a difference.
Grab a friend, jump on a treadmill or bike and help your centre climb the leaderboard.

The question isn't whether we can hit 2,026km… it's HOW FAR BEYOND IT CAN WE GO? 👀

Our Summer Holiday Crash Course Swimming Lessons were a fantastic success, with children making excellent progress in the water over the holidays. The intensive sessions helped swimmers build confidence, develop key skills, and work towards their next swimming goals in a fun and supportive environment. A huge well done to all our young swimmers for their hard work and enthusiasm, and to our dedicated swim teachers for making the courses such a success!
