Young Starz Soccer Summer League was created with the aim of offering young footballers the best chance of enhancing their talent and passion for the game. With our main ethos being heavily influenced by teachings from FC Barcelona's 'La Masia' Academy programs and Total Football creator Rinus Michels AFC Ajax model, this soccer program will not only vastly improve a players technical ability, it will also offer your whole family a fun-filled and exciting summer. We believe YSS develops the highest levels of technique, tactics and knowledge of the game at the quickest rate. All of the weekly coaching sessions are designed around improving technical ability and by playing smaller sided games we increase a players overall ball competency. Games are played with limited space, defined touchlines and constant opponent pressure meaning improved ball control, technique and skills are required. Players must think fast and support and communicate with team mates when they have the ball, developing more intelligent footballers. Goalkeepers are not involved until they reach the 8 year old age group as we believe in developing technically competent footballers before they make their way into the 11-a-side game. However, specialised goalkeeping centres will also be available. Gameplay is designed to encourage respect for all players and officials.
