U14 Championships & QuadKids

Yesterday was a tough day for all our juniors in Crawley, with cold, wet and windy conditions throughout. Despite the weather, every athlete showed great determination, team spirit and resilience.

The support from the parents was fantastic too. Seeing everyone come together and support one another is something that makes Dave very proud as Team Manager.

The conditions didn’t stop some of our athletes from shining, and we’re delighted to celebrate two new Sussex Champions. Both have worked incredibly hard over the past few months and thoroughly deserve their success.

Ivy Craig became Sussex Champion in both the 100m and 200m.

Bella became Sussex Champion in the Javelin.

A huge congratulations also to Dailian Mottley, who finished 3rd overall in the QuadKids competition, which is a fantastic achievement.

Well done to the entire team. There were some excellent performances across the track and field, with great running, throwing and jumping throughout the day. Everyone should be proud of their efforts.

💙❤️

Away from the track, Hastings AC member Mel Wright successfully completed the Race to the King Castle 50K, a challenging ultra-marathon through the South Downs that passes historic landmarks including Arundel Castle.

Mel took on the 50-kilometre challenge to raise funds for the charity, established in memory of Josh Alexander, who died aged 21. The charity supports health, fitness and wellbeing programmes, helping people access opportunities and funding initiatives that promote confidence, healthy lifestyles and personal development.

Congratulations to Mel on an outstanding endurance achievement and for supporting such a worthwhile cause.
