***Open Water Swimming Update***

Following the ease in goverment lockdown restrictions, we are currently in the process of digesting the latest covid safety guidlines with a view to offer a covid safe open water swimming option at Hartlepool Marina.

As social distancing is key,, in order to deploy the most suited safety measures it would really help to have a rough idea of how many of you would be interested in getting back in the water...

So if you're ready to swim and would benefit from a covid safe swim option - please like this status to help us gauge interest and prepare the most appropriate measures.for your safety

Today we met the lovely Lola - a Labradoodle who loves the water just as much as we do!

Carly got in touch about our Dog & Owner Swim Sessions - to enjoy a bit of in-water bonding with her beloved Canine.

It was the first time Lola and Carly had taken to the water together and by the looks of things it won't be the last...

A big thank you to On Water Volunteers Joshua and Karl for their kind assistance this evening!

There is alot that goes on behind the scenes that wouldn't be as easy without the help of enthusiastic volunteers.

If you're interested in getting involved with the delivery of Open Water Swimming - including roles such as Registration, Shore Safety, Water Marshalling, Spotting,

Perfect conditions to welcome first timers Ashleigh, Amy and Johnny in advance of their this weekend - we wish them a safe and fun swim with plenty of donations. The Open Water Swim Session included a brief shore-side wetsuit hire workshop, going over fitting essentials and features with our swim coach Matt, before a water safety briefing and acclimatisation.

Once our first timers felt comfortable and confident they set out for a short familiarisation swim to the buoy practicing sighting and various open water tecniques under the supervision of our SUP safety marshal.
