After two fantastic training sessions this week, the boys are raring to go and officially kick off their U10 season tomorrow! 🔥

Our first game sees us take on Kader Rangers — and we can’t wait to get back out there, have some fun and see the boys put all their hard work into action! 💪⚽️

💦 Training… or Water Fight?! 😂⚽️

With temperatures soaring tonight, we thought we’d give the boys a slightly different session… and, more importantly, give the parents an hour of peace and quiet! 😂

We started off with a 2v2 tournament, but the heat was getting a bit too much, so we decided the best thing to do was let the boys have some fun!

💦 No Net Challenge – miss the target and you get dunked in a bucket of freezing cold water.

The only problem? The boys quickly realised that missing on purpose meant getting soaked! 🤦‍♂️😂

🎯 Then came the Crossbar Challenge. Anyone who hit the bar got to dunk the coach’s head in a bucket of water.

Thankfully for the coach, nobody could hit the bar… until Dan decided to step up and announce that if HE hit it, he was soaking the boys instead.

He stepped up… BANG! Off the bar! 😭😂

1-0 Dan. The boys were not happy.

But then came the moment they had all been waiting for… 💦🔫

WATER FIGHT!

Water balloons, water guns and absolutely no mercy. 😂

By the end, the boys had teamed up and decided the coach was the main target. Safe to say… they won. 😂

The coach finished absolutely soaked, the boys were soaked, the pitch was soaked and, judging by the smiles, everyone had a brilliant time!

Sometimes you just have to forget the serious stuff, let them be kids and create some memories. ❤️⚽️

Parents got an hour of peace. Boys got soaked. Coach got battered. I’d call that a successful training session! 😂💦

🏆🔴🔵 FC U10 GREYS IMPRESS ON TOURNAMENT DEBUT 🔴🔵🏆

Yesterday, FC Hartlepool Greys took part in their first-ever tournament together at Trimdon, and what a day it turned out to be! 💙⚽

Group Stage

⚽ FC Hartlepool Greys 1-1 Trimdon

The Greys opened the tournament against hosts Trimdon, a side they had recently met in a closely fought friendly. Trimdon took an early lead, but as the game settled the Greys grew into the contest, creating several good opportunities before grabbing a thoroughly deserved equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw.

⚽ FC Hartlepool Greys 0-4 Leven

The second match brought a tough test against Leven. An unfortunate moment saw the ball slip through our goalkeeper’s hands to hand Leven the lead. An own goal and a defensive mix-up allowed them to extend their advantage before they added a fourth on the counter-attack, leaving the Greys with a difficult defeat.

⚽ FC Hartlepool Greys 2-1 Seaton Tigers

Knowing they needed a result, the lads responded in brilliant fashion against a Seaton Tigers side who had beaten them twice in the league last season.

From the first whistle, the Greys defended superbly while playing some excellent football. A lightning-fast counter-attack produced the opening goal before some outstanding quick passing and transition play led to a fantastic team goal to make it 2-0.

Seaton pulled one back to set up a tense finish, but every single Greys player threw themselves into blocks, tackles and challenges in the closing stages, showing incredible determination to hold on for a memorable 2-1 victory.

⚽ FC Hartlepool Greys 1-2 Crook

The final group game came against Crook. After putting so much into the earlier matches, energy levels were beginning to drop. With results elsewhere already securing a semi-final place, the squad was rotated. The lads continued to battle and created chances, but couldn’t quite find the breakthrough as Crook edged a 2-1 win.

🏆 FC Hartlepool Greys 0-2 Seaton United

The Greys’ reward was their first-ever tournament semi-final against Seaton United.

After a long, demanding day, the earlier efforts appeared to take their toll. Credit to Seaton United, who played some excellent football and deservedly progressed with a 2-0 victory.

A Tournament to Be Proud Of

Although the journey ended in the semi-finals, every single player should be immensely proud of their efforts.

For a team playing in their first tournament together, the improvement, attitude, togetherness and resilience shown throughout the day were outstanding. The Greys grew into the competition with every match, produced some excellent football and showed exactly what this young side is capable of.

The future is looking very bright for FC Hartlepool U10 Greys. 🔴🔵👏

Today we celebrate the dads who give up their weekends to support their children and our team. 👏

Your commitment, encouragement and support never go unnoticed. You are more than just spectators – you’re role models, coaches, taxi drivers, biggest fans and heroes to your children. 💪💙

The memories being made, the confidence being built and the smiles on the kids’ faces every weekend wouldn’t be possible without you. 😊⚽

Thank you for everything you do, not just for your own child but for the whole team. Grassroots football wouldn’t exist without dedicated parents like you. 🙌

⚽️🔵FC Hartlepool U9 Greys🔵⚽️

All eyes were on the Greys this morning! However, the hard work on the training pitch is starting to show as we made it 3 wins from 3 in pre-season! 🔥👏

Today we made the short trip to Trimdon and started brightly, although we found it difficult to break down a well-organised opposition. After 11 minutes, Ivan created some space for himself and fired home from a tight angle to give FC the lead. ⚽️🚀

As the half went on, Trimdon grew into the game and were rewarded with a free-kick just outside the box. A fantastic strike flew into the top corner, giving our keeper no chance and levelling the scores right on half-time. 🎯

The second half saw the Greys respond brilliantly. Heads never dropped and the team continued to play some excellent football, creating chances while coming up against a very resilient Trimdon side. At the back, Meobo, Frankie and Callum worked tirelessly as a unit, winning the ball back time and time again, while Ollie pulled off some outstanding saves when called upon. 🧤💪

On 36 minutes, Charlie’s relentless work rate paid off as he beat the keeper to the ball and won a penalty. Up stepped Charlie himself, calmly smashing it into the top corner to restore FC’s lead. ⚽️🔥

Trimdon continued to battle hard, but on 43 minutes the Greys sealed the win with a fantastic team goal. Noah won the ball back brilliantly on the edge of our own box before playing a delightful pass down the wing to Sonny, whose excellent cross found Charlie at the back post to finish and make it 3-1. ⚽️👏

“That was a fantastic performance from every single player today. Every one of them gave 100% and worked incredibly hard for each other. We tried a new formation that we’ve never played before and they settled into it brilliantly. It’s great to see them all playing with huge smiles on their faces and making excellent progress every week.”
