Often parents can be made to feel like an exception when it comes to the laws of self-care.
Parents if you read that statement and agreed with it.
You have probably fell the trap of one of the self care myths.
I’m going to give you three myths that are controlling the way you think about self care. And also prove them wrong. 👍
MYTH 1️⃣ - “A ‘Parents’ job is to take care of their kids, and not worry about themselves.❌
The truth is you can only be good at being a parent when you’re feeling good and your needs are met. ✅
MYTH 2️⃣ - “It’s selfish of parents to want time for themselves.” ❌
Being a parent is incredibly rewarding but it also has its challenges. Just because you want some time to yourself doesn’t mean you can’t love your children unconditionally. Of course you can! It also doesn’t make you a bad person it’s just makes you human. ✅
MYTH 3️⃣ - “This is what parents signed up for, so they shouldn’t feel overwhelmed.” ❌
There is nothing that can fully prepare someone for becoming a parent! We can all feel overwhelmed at times with jobs, business, relationships. So Parents have every right to feel overwhelmed too, and they shouldn’t be shamed for it. ✅
So.....Moms, Dads
What are your thoughts? 🤔
Do you practice self care already?
Or
Are the myths, the lies controlling the way you think about it?
Drop a comment below I’d love to hear what you think. 👇👇👇👇
Ps. I also want you to know that If you’ve read this and you’ve totally resonated with it and find yourself believing the myth, the lie.
I want you to remember it’s never to late to change! ❤️❤️
