Our Parkinson Bat and Chat was on BBC Look North, and we couldn't be prouder of the people behind it.
Every other Wednesday, people with Parkinson's come together in our Table Tennis hall with their carers, friends and family. Everyone looks out for each other, on the table and off it. Then the kettle goes on for tea, cake and a chat, and carers get an hour or so to themselves.
The group was started by coach George Chan, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's at 52. As he told the BBC: "Just because we have it doesn't mean to say it's thank you and good night." It was one of the first groups of its kind in the country, and Parkinson's UK and Table Tennis England are now helping other clubs start their own.
This is what Harrogate Racquets Club is for. We're a members' club, here since 1924 and run by volunteers, and we're open to everyone whatever your age or ability. Tennis, Badminton and Table Tennis, whatever your standard.
