ake new friends or have been inspired by all the dancing shows on TV - our team of professional fully qualified, insured and CRB registered teachers are here to make sure you have a fun and enjoyable experience! Principle teachers Scott & Ross Simpson have performed all over the world dancing alongside artists such as Robbie Williams, Geri Halliwell and Kylie Minogue, to name but a few on productions such as MTV - Top of the Pop - Smash Hits and The Brits Awards. This enables the school to teach the latest styles and keep its students in the forefront of dance today. Many of the school’s pupils have furthered their training at professional colleges such as Performers, London Studio Centre and Colin’s Performing Arts College, with past and present pupils engaging in professional contracts all over the world. As well as our regular classes - students have the unique opportunity to take workshops with leading choreographers and dancers from all our the world. These include Marty Kudleka (Choreographer for Justin Timberlake), Kenny Wormald (Footloose 2011), Nick Bass (Dancer for Michael Jackson - this is it tour) and many more. Makin' Steps also holds regular productions and class showcases and performs at many events throughout the year, giving it's pupils the perfect platform to showcase the skills they have learnt at the school. Recently events have included "5212 -The Queens Diamond Jubilee Show, Harlow councils "Chairman's Ball" at the Civic Centre and a performance at the Olympic torch relay event. Join us on 20th June 2026 for a fun, feel-good evening of live music, performance and entertainment in a relaxed cabaret-style setting.

Our amazing students will be taking to the mic to share what they have been working on this term, and we would love for family and friends to come along and support them.

Adults: £6.00
Children under 16: £3.00

Entrance & Meal 🍟
Adults: £15.00
Includes chips with a choice of fish, sausage, sausage in batter, saveloy or ¼ chicken.

Children: £9.50
Includes chips with a choice of fish, one piece of southern fried chicken, four chicken nuggets or two chicken strips.

🥤 Please bring your own drinks.

During the interval, we’ll be holding a mini music quiz with a bottle of wine for the winner, plus our popular cash prize raffle. Half of the raffle money will go to the winner, and the other half will go towards our Christmas show.

This is a fundraiser, so your support really does mean a lot. It’s also a brilliant chance for our students to build confidence, showcase their talents and perform in front of family and friends.

🎶 Audience members will also have the chance to get involved and sing a song. Song choices must be made before the second act and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Makin’ Steps Summer Dance Course 2026 is officially open for bookings!

Join us from Monday 3rd to Friday 7th August 2026 for an action-packed week of dance, fun, friendship and performance.

Now in its 17th year, our Summer Dance Course has welcomed over 1,000 students over the past 16 years — and we can’t wait to do it all again this summer.

🕘 9am–2pm daily
📍 Makin’ Steps Studios, Potter Street Community Centre

Students will enjoy classes in:

✨ Ballet
✨ Tap
✨ Modern

All in a safe, supervised and supportive environment, ending with two very special performances on Friday evening.
