**Harleston Hosts Successful South Norfolk Tennis League Doubles Tournaments**

Harleston Tennis Club was delighted to host the South Norfolk Tennis League Ladies' and Men's Doubles tournaments today, welcoming players from clubs across the region for a day of competitive and enjoyable tennis.

Conditions could hardly have been better, with warm sunshine, little wind and, most importantly, no rain. The day began with the Ladies' Doubles event, featuring six pairs representing Diss, Harleston, Framlingham and Wortham tennis clubs. Played in an excellent spirit throughout, the matches produced some superb rallies and entertaining tennis, with all participants clearly enjoying the occasion.

Congratulations go to Bev and Sarah-Jane, who displayed confidence and skill throughout the tournament and were deserving winners of the ladies' title.

Players enjoyed a buffet lunch, while tea and cakes were available throughout the day and proved popular with competitors and spectators alike.

The afternoon Men's Doubles competition attracted nine pairs from Framlingham, Diss, Wortham, Bungay, Harleston and Rickinghall tennis clubs. The teams were divided into two groups, with the group winners progressing to the final. After a series of closely contested matches, David and Andrew from Diss reached the final but were beaten by Ben and Rowan from Wortham, who claimed the title.

Harleston Tennis Club would like to thank all the players for their sportsmanship and enthusiasm, which helped make the day such a success, and wishes everyone an enjoyable remainder of the summer tennis season.

Good Tennis, Good Snacks, Good Weather!
South Norfolk Tennis League Mixed Doubles Tournament.

This morning here in Harleston, we hosted the South Norfolk Tennis League Mixed Doubles Tournament. Pairs from Harleston, Framlingham and Bungay competed for the Division 1 trophy by playing a round robin, one set against each pair. It was a fun, competitive event enjoyed by all. Laura and Paul from Harleston, finished in first place.
This afternoon, five pairs went into battle for the Division 2 trophy. We welcomed teams from Harling Sportspark and from Bungay. Despite the close, interclub rivalries and an epic tie break set, everyone enjoyed great tennis in the sunshine. Olly and Bethany from Bungay emerged victorious.
This tournament is the launch of our summer tennis season where teams complete in Mixed, Ladies and Doubles Leagues. If you’re interested in match tennis here in Harleston, do get in touch. [email protected]

Anyone for tennis?!
Summer is around the corner and the tennis season is about to launch. We have match practices on Monday 20th and 27th April (6pm start) if you fancy playing some league tennis and our social club nights start on Wednesday 22nd April and run every Wednesday and Friday evenings starting at 6pm, through the summer - only £1 each for members. Non members welcome - come and try a session or two.

Thanks to the working party who gave their time this morning to get the hut and the garden area ready for the new season. Thanks also to the team from Crook Powerwashing and Tennis Court Maintenance for painting the lines today. The club's looking great - hope to see you on court soon.

🎉 Quiz Night Success at Harleston Tennis & Squash Club! 🎉

Harleston Tennis and Squash Club would like to thank everyone who came along to our Quiz Night on Friday evening at the Swan Hotel here in Harleston. We had an impressive turnout with 15 teams – a great mix of both squash and tennis players – which made for a fantastic atmosphere throughout the night!

A huge thank you to our brilliant quiz masters, Dan and Sue Cornish, who certainly put us all through our paces. We’d also like to thank the wonderful team behind the scenes who prepared and served a delicious buffet – it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

We’re lucky to have such a fantastic range of local businesses in Harleston, and we’re incredibly grateful to those who supported our event by donating raffle prizes and the winning team prize. Special thanks to:

There was also a truly special moment during the evening as we presented Margaret Slade with an Honorary Lifetime Membership, celebrating her incredible 70 years of playing tennis in Harleston. From winning tournaments in the 1950s to being an active member both on and off the court ever since, Margaret is an inspiration to us all. 💚

After such a fantastic evening, we’re delighted to share that we raised an amazing £662.90!
