Congratulations to Matthew McPherson on winning the Gloucester Aces Summer Matchplay Tournament for the second time.

Matt beat the defending champion Mark Ingram 3&2 in the final, in what was a showdown between the only two previous champions. You can watch how the final unfolded here - https://youtu.be/m-Ih9Nb1MvQ?is=TsCeD_u8z0fD2rm9

Mark produced a phenomenal display in the semi finals against World Crazy Golf Champion, Rocky Bullin where he aced 10 of the first 11 holes to win the match 9&7. Mark continued his round and went on to ace everything up until the last 3 holes where he scored two 3s but still ended up with an incredible round of 24 with a golf ball.

Rocky went on to take the bronze spot after beating Jas Kukielka after 17 holes in the 3rd/4th place playoff.

Players who were knocked out in the group stage still had something to play for in the 1 round strokeplay shootout. Martyn Williams, Chloe Parsons and Leah Cassidy couldn't be separated after all scoring 35 so an18 hole playoff was played to determine the winner. Leah produced her best ever round at Aces scoring a 25 to win the £10 prize beating her opponents by 12 shots.

Thanks to everyone who braved the weather and we can now look forward to the 6th annual Aces Minigolf Invitational which takes place on the 31st of October! More details to be announced soon.

Entries for our Summer Matchplay close tomorrow at Midday. The group drawing will take place from 2pm at the course.

Currently we have 25 entries which will mean five groups of 5 players with the top 3 in each group along with 1 best placed 4th place finisher advancing to the last 16 where it will be straight knockout.

The top 3 will receive cash prizes. All games will be contested over 18 holes with the first set of games beginning at 9:40am.

The players eliminated after the group stages will still have something to play for as they compete in a 1 round shootout for a small cash prize.

Four members of Gloucester Aces played in the Czech Adventure Golf Masters last year at Adventure Golf Horni Bezdekov and we all had a fantastic time.

This year we will have 7 players going out to represent the club along with Gaz Combs from the Dragons Minigolf Club along with Steve and Ruth Sturdy from Gemini Golf Club.

The event is incredible and we would recommend the experience to any player if they get the opportunity.

Our Saturday morning pot was an exciting affair this week as the players shifted to golf ball only in preparation for the upcoming Aces Summer Matchplay league on the 29th of August!

Some great shots and celebrations captured. Remember, anyone can join in on our weekly 2 round tournament. We start at 9:30am and have 2 separate divisions.

It's been a successful last 2 events on the BMGA tour for the Gloucester Aces.

First up was the English Open where Chris Randell claimed his 2nd tour win and first BMGA title after 6 solid rounds on the tricky T12 course at Peterborough Minigolf.

Then it was the British Adventure Golf Masters on home territory at Aces Minigolf Gloucester. British #1, Seve Kukielka claimed his second tweed jacket and won by 4 shots after 4 rounds in the heat.

We move on now to this weekend where a strong contingent from the club will be competing at the UrbanCrazy Foxes Open and BMGA Matchplay Singles taking place at Play2Day Wisbech.

Double World Crazy Golf Champions!

Huge congratulations to Rocky Bullin who has won his 1st Major title at the World Crazy Golf Championships in Hastings.

Rocky shot an incredible 29 in the last Crazy crazy round with a spectacular ace on 18 to clinch the title ahead of Marc Chapman and David Woodcock.

Rachel King made it 2 ladies championships in a row with her victory on Saturday evening. Rachel beat Elena Teubler in a playoff on hole 1 to retain her title.

Congratulations to "Big Dog" Ben Cassidy on his win at last week's Gloucester Aces Open.

Ben followed up on his impressive performance in the WMF World Adventure Golf Tour Finals at the start of May to win his 2nd BMGA ranking event.

Ben held off the challenge of teammate Chris Randell and Strokes captain, James Rutherford who both finished 2 shots behind after 4rounds on a sweltering hot day in Gloucester.

Chris went on to beat James in a playoff for 2nd place overall after aceing hole 1.

Martin Greenhead finished in 4th position with Foxes Minigolf Club member, Jon Angel in 5th.

There was a tie for the final two cash positions, between the 2022 Champion, Richard Maud, James Shaw and 9 year old Finn McPherson all tied on -26. In the end it was Finn and Richard who cemented their places in the top 7 after they both aced hole 1 with James just missing out.

There was a lockout for Gloucester Aces in the category awards with all 6 medals going to the club.

Tony Davis won category 2 ahead of Rocky Bullin in 2nd and Luke Ryan in 3rd.

Finn McPherson won category 3/4 with the 2025 overall runner up, Mark Ingram in 2nd and Matthew McPherson in 3rd.

Finn also took home the Junior trophy ahead of Leah Cassidy and Dexter Adam.

The Female division was won by Rachel King with Cindy Kukielka in 2nd and Ruth Sturdy of Geminigolf in 3rd.
