As a club we’re proud of our track record of producing goalies - we’ve 7 goalies currently in the academy system who played with us at grassroots - and yet (other than our GK coaches) most of our coaches would freely admit they wouldn’t know a GK session if it smacked them in the face!

The reason, we believe, we see so many goalies go on to that level is 1) we have a lot of good goalies! and 2) we coach our goalies to be creative thinkers & brave decision makers. Our goalies receive passes a lot and are encouraged to be the first playmaker. This is demonstrated brilliantly by U11 Rambo, whose distribution in Sunday’s final was simply sensational 🤩

That time of year again where grassroots football pauses for some of our players as they take the next step into academy football at professional clubs.

This season, we’re incredibly proud to see 9 players from our Under 8s offered academy opportunities - a remarkable achievement for one age group, and our club are very proud.

A huge congratulations to:

• Awab Hassan from our U8 Reds, signing for Manchester United.

• Toby Gartside, Roman Kelly, Rafeal Leathley, Alieu Batchilly & Ernie Currie from our U8 Blues & Reds, who will be joining local side Stockport County.

• Harlem Powell from our U8 Reds, who moves on to Huddersfield Town.

• Jett Crooks from our U8 Whites, who will be joining Crewe Alexandra.

• Harry Neild from our U8 Whites, who has earned his place with Port Vale.

We wish all the players and their families the very best on the next stage of their journey.

Current SK Under 8s are now recruiting for the 2026/27 season 🔵⚪️

Following a fantastic season, we’ve seen a total of 9 players to date sign academy papers, with several still awaiting decisions.

2025/26 MYSL finishes:

* Blues - Premiership
* Whites - Premiership
* Reds - Premiership
* Blacks - Division 2
* Greys - Division 5

We’re now recruiting players going into Year 4 in September, with spaces available across the whole age group.

Whether you’re looking for a new challenge, a different environment, or additional football alongside Saturday commitments.

Barcelona dump 🗑️

Started dead well trying to get posts out every day but the carnage soon took hold. What a weekend! Trying to pick a highlight is pretty much impossible, but seeing everyone together and so many smiles on so many people’s faces is probably the winner.

We don’t often do POTM posts, with 32 teams it’d be far too difficult to share them all! However, this one needs sharing… One thing we’re particularly proud of in our club is that we have players who value the club so high they travel from afar, with players coming from as far as South Cheshire, Wigan, Bolton, and North Wales to play for us.

Cory - and his pal, Theo - take it to a new level, travelling every week to train with and now play for us from the Isle of Man. Obviously football opportunities for strong players are scarce on a sparsely populated island, so travelling over to Manchester makes a lot of sense, but it is also absolutely sensational dedication from both boys & parents 👏👏

Superstars 🤩

Congratulations to our newest and littlest team, U6 Dev, who won their cup final down at CFA yesterday. Fantastic experience for them made all the better by lifting the trophy and collecting the fantastic medals, thanks 🏆🏅

A very belated dump of photos from our recent trip to Portugal with a selection of our U9s, 11s and 12s. Staying in a beautiful place called Cascais (if you want a holiday, have a look!), 40 mins from Lisbon, we had beach days, trips to Sporting Lisbon, a boat tour of the city and of course matches vs. , Estoril and Casa Pia. The latter two being clubs who play in the Liga Portugal, so great to experience playing against yet more pro clubs abroad.

We’ve got a trip to Barcelona in a week and a half for some more of our groups…. But the where to next year?!
