It might be wet, windy and possibly blown a hoolie. But fear not loyal skating fans we are open tomorrow, Saturday 24 October; for public skating 1:45-4:30 and the cafe is open so chip&curry you may have!

Lanarkshire Province held their Ladies Bonspiel today. Due to an odd number of teams, each team had a challenge end where they scored by promoting stones into the house - this worked to some teams advantage and some not so much. After some great play and good fun, Coulter won with a score of plus 6 shots. Well done to Lillias Hyslop, Jean Taylor, Diane Lang, Kay Goodall who were presented with their prizes by committee member Janis Bryce.

🥌🇨🇦 Canada vs Scotland at Lanarkshire Ice Rink! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Today we welcomed Canadian curlers- Laura and Alan Rampton, and Pam and Jack Chow from Western Canada, near Vancouver for a friendly match - so friendly we let Canada win! 🤣🥌

Laura and Pam were both Couriers for the 2025 Scottish Womens Tour to Canada and decided to make a holiday this year in Scotland by trying to catch up with all 24 Tourists in their own Ice Rinks on our home turf. Laura had previously visited Scotland as part of the 2024 Tour who were delayed from 2020 so she was given the job of navigator and driver as she knew where she was going!

It was lovely to play together and catch up over dinner. Pat Lyden from Greenacres also stopped in to say hi having just returned from her own holiday.

Only 2 more ice rinks to visit before they return home - we look forward to a renewed continuing friendship across the pond.

Thank you to everyone who came along to our 2 skating sessions today.

It was great to witness the inclusivity that happened today and to see that people who have been away from skating for a number of years felt they could come along to skate in a not so busy environment.
