Lots of work getting done on the course this week! 🌱⛳

A busy week for the greens team, with plenty of essential maintenance completed:

✔️ Greens solid spiked to a depth of 6 inches to improve aeration, drainage and rootzone conditions.
✔️ Greens rolled following the spiking work.
✔️ All bunkers trimmed and tidied.
✔️ Fairways cut and treated with liquid feed and selective herbicide to improve turf health and control unwanted weeds.
✔️ Several GUR areas plugged and repaired.
✔️ Forestry work has also started, with further work to follow.

A huge well done to Dylan Burt on winning the LGA Champion of Champions today - an outstanding result coming just weeks after successfully defending the Club Championship 👏🏆

Dylan showed real class throughout the day, finishing it off with a brilliant 25‑footer for a 2 at 17 to edge a superb final against Scott MacPherson. Top‑quality golf from both players ⛳

Some essential maintenance carried out on the tees after a punishing summer. 🌱

Solid spiking followed by overseeding to help the tees recover, improve root development and allow some much-needed air circulation into the soil profile.

All the usual areas of the course were kept moving, with tees, aprons, fairways, rough and other key areas cut at least twice last week.

A busy week keeping the course looking its best while also putting some much-needed recovery work in place. ⛳️

⛳🏆 Finals Day 2026 🏆⛳

One of the highlights of our golfing calendar took place yesterday with the conclusion of Finals Day, bringing together superb golf, great support, and a brilliant atmosphere across the club.

A huge thank you and congratulations to all our finalists for putting on a fantastic event. Thanks also to the many Members, family and friends who followed the matches and filled the clubhouse afterwards to continue the celebrations.

Neil and the team have presented the course in magnificent condition all season, and yesterday was no exception, the course looked and played at its very best. 👏🏻⛳

Our Clubhouse staff once again delivered brilliant hospitality and ensured everything ran smoothly.

To our Club Officials, Derek, David & Paddy in the Professional Shop, Karen and Brigitte in the Office, and Claire and Rebecca who keep the clubhouse looking its best - thank you for the organisation, preparation and professionalism that make days like this run seamlessly.

Finals Day – Sunday 23rd August 2026 ⛳

With the course in fantastic condition and the weather looking favourable, we’re set for a brilliant Finals Day today. We wish all our finalists the very best, and many congratulations for making it to this stage. Below is a reminder of the schedule, and we encourage Members, friends and family to come along and support the players throughout the day.

The kitchen will be open from 8am until 7pm, and the bar will also open from the earlier time of 8am and remain open until 10pm. A buffet will be served from 5pm, with tickets available at the bar at a cost of £10 per person.

The greens team have been busy getting the course in top condition, with all greens brushed and rolled, fairways cut and patched with seed and soil, bunkers trimmed and edged, and the clubhouse area fully cleared and cleaned. Everything is now looking sharp and ready for what promises to be a great Finals Day.

Today we say goodbye to our very popular Clubhouse team member Amy Cuthbertson after 2.5 years of fantastic service. Amy now moves on to a new role at the chiropractors Maple Clinics in Uddingston, and finally gets her weekends back - while dealing with actual pains in the neck 😉

Lanarkshire schools are nearly back, but this is the final chance for some silverware and to finish the holidays in style at one of Lanarkshire’s most prestigious junior events. An 18‑hole stroke play competition for all juniors under 18 (as of 1 Jan 2026), with a handicap allowance up to 36.
