The burial will be at 10:45 am at Dalbeth cemetery

On two occasions last week, one of the compressed air bottles main valve was not closed properly, first incident was on Thursday 28/05/2026, David Mair noticed it on the following Friday morning ( Bottle Empty ), second occasion was Saturday 30/05/2026, Colin Williamson heard the new fully charged bottle leaking, valve was not closed properly.
Please ensure you close the valve properly, it's simple, turn gently clockwise till it stops, then a gentle nip, *A GENTLE NIP,* it's not rocket science.
For Members who have not bought into the Air Fill for Life Scheme, it's 50p/Fill, Red cash box is at the Air Bottle Location for your payment, ( Contact Rob if you require info for the 'Air Fill For Life' cost).

It is with great regreat I am reporting that John Bartolo has passed away.

John was our club secreatary for a good few years and spent many an hour shooting in the plinkers hut.

He is greatly missed.

I do not know any funeral dates at the moment but, will post here when I do.

On Saturday 2nd of May we held our 1st club outdoor league shoot.

This is our first attempt to follow the World Federation rules as close as possible in an afternoon time frame.
We had 9 shooters.

The weather was acceptable but, as this was a two-card event and shooters shot in 6 relays with a different bench on each leg, together with Dechmont ever changing weather patterns, competitors found this a very challenging competition.

This is the nature of Benchrest and why one card events don't test the shooter over different weather conditions. One card event can be a simple luck of the draw.

Here are the results of the TEAM EVENT (BEDLAY VS DARPC) benchrest comp that took place at Dechmont on Sunday the 26th of April.

The weather was very good. No rain, nice temps and the winds were low., hovering around 1-2 MPH according to Windy App. However, the winds were switching from right to left often making enough up and down drafts that would throw the pellet into the 9 ring.

DARPC 1185 and 24X
Bedlay 1178 and 25X

7 points in it. It's going to be a close match this year.

To all members.
2mower will be the 1st qualification for the BR team event Bedlay vs DARPC.

This will start at 12:30 for a 1pm kick off.

The comp is this Sunday the 26th at 11:30 for a 12 noon kick off.

To all other member not competing please note: The BR hut will be closed for 12:30 - 2:30pm on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 to 3 pm.

David Aitken (SInbad) funeral is 2mower at Lynn Crematorium 10am.

This will be followed by a service at Rutherglen Cemetery for 11am.

On Saturday the 12th at 11 am the qualifier for the Dechmont vs Bedlay benchrest team event will take place. If you are a member and would like to try out for the team please show up on Saturday 11 am and speak to Robert Adair.

The 1st competition will be Sunday the 13th at 11am. Please note: the benchrest hut will be closed from 11am to 2 pm for non competitors.

David Aitken funeral will take place on Wednesday 15th April at Linn crematorium.

A 10am service followed by Rutherglen Cemetery for 11am then onto the 100 Acres afterwards

All members current and past who knew Sinbad are more than welcome to attend.
